| Post subject: | I hate Selena Roberts |
Selena Roberts is now releasing what looks like a tabloid like book on A-Rod, saying that A-Rod has taken steroids since high school. I don't agree, and normally I'd shrug it off. But it "convienently" comes out right as A-Rod is coming back from surgery. Why did she schedule the release now? Just what the Yankees need... |

If the allegations are true, would you still hate her? I don't necessarilly agree with tabloid journalism and sensationalizing the facts, but I think there's good reason to suspect there's more truth than what A-Rod is telling. As the saying goes: "When there's smoke--there's fire". Remember, it's not as though A-Rod is being accused out of the blue of using steroids (like what happened when Conseco said the same thing a little over a year ago in his book "Vindicated" and everyone wrote him off as "bitter" and a "liar"). Actually, A-Rod admitted to using them AFTER there was evidence he was implicated for using steroids in drug testing by the MLB. Selena Roberts, from what I've read in a few articles discussing the matter, didn't intentionally go about looking for this information, it just kind of fell in to her lap as she was researching a new book about the player. So who does the guilt fall on now? The person who's covered up something for part (or possibly all) of his professional sports career or the person who just happened to uncover the truth, that, let's be honest, would've been uncovered eventually by some other reporter? Sorry, but I have no sympathy for baseball cheats. Taking steroids is a huge gamble. It can reward a player with a multi-million dollar contract, but it can also tarnish an entire career. Those are the risks one has to weigh and, if they get caught, should be forced to suffer the consequences. A-Rod is no exception. |

I agree with Spe here. I don't believe A-Rod ONLY took steriods when he was with the Rangers. I believe he took them at least when he was with the Yankees for a while. |

The Yankees should cut A-Rod and let him go flip burgers. People who do what he did in a professional sport shouldn't even be allowed to play it. We should also set his career stats back at 0. |

but how many people actually care anymore? i dont care im sick of hearing this everyone is out to get someone. if somebody has a good season they are going to say he must of takin steriods lets enjoy the sport again besides if you take the stuff you still have to work its not a mircle worker and taking it can hurt you greatly at anytime is it bad yes we know that so lets quiet judging players and have fun (judge it or not i just wanted to vent) |

Yes, it did originally fall in her lap, but not this. Why not just put it all in Sport Illustrated if she didn't want to exploit this to the fullest? A-Rod took it as a Ranger. Was it wrong? Yes. But it wasn't as bad as it would be today seeing how it was compleatly legal in baseball terms. I think we should ignore the pass and move on and prevent it in the future. A-Rod has passed multiple test since then. If you look at him as a ranger, he was a little wider and his sholders were more broad. I believe A-Rod personally. Now the worst part about this whole thing is it came out illegally and whoever gave out the information would not only lose there job and be sewed, but they may end up in jail for a short period of time. If they were involved in the goverment, then this was huge (well huge in comparision to what it would be otherwise) federal crime and a leak of information that the goverment had questionable rights to in the first place. I highly doubt that Selena has real proof behind this, and I don't intend to boost her sales to find out. Pushing back the publicity date to a few days before A-Rod's retrun date I believe is an inarguable sleazy move. I don't think that anyone will have any good, clear and unbiased idea of what really happened till at least 30 years. Might A-Rod have taken steroids before and after? It's possible. If he did, did Selena Roberts actually find that out or was she just lucky and got it right? Jose Canseco was like that, what he said about A-Rod was compleatly wrong. Other then the fact that A-Rod took him, the details he gave had nothing to do with what actually happened. I would trust something George Bush said over him (haha, that's very strong to me. Yes, I do hate Canseco, a lazy guy with a lot of gifts who did nothing with it). |
