If you are a base runner and whomever is at-bat hits an obvious foul ball make sure you lead off the base so you are easier to double up

You don't ever need to sleep, just eat hot dogs and youll be ready for any action

When a player comes from Japan they are automatically 10x better

No injury you sustain during a season will make you miss more than a week of play

Umpires are never wrong when calling balls and strikes, never

Names like Pedroia and Darula are actually quite common

If you are a pitcher, you cannot nail a batter with a fastball, cause it is physically impossible

The only earrings you can wear while playing baseball resemble that of which a pirate would wear

There are never three pitcher rotations in post-season play, that would just be dumb

Throwing a shuriken at your friend always ends with a good result

Ichrio and Matsuzaka sucks in the game, not in the sense like abilities, but they suck in season/life mode. Umps do call balls and strikes wrong, even if it is really obivous. You can nail a batter with high fastball in the easiest mode or with a mispitch, which still counts as a fastball.

Same goes for unnecessary throws to bases where the runner slid into the base unnecessarily. :P

You forgot 12% injury rate is actually like 75%

Yes - percentages vary by activity:

a 25% chance on your gamble will take 10 tries via save reload.

a 17% chance of injury, however, means you will get injured 4 out of 5 attempts.

Other things I've learned from Success Mode:

Even if you bite, just hang around with Chief and you will be promoted alongside him.

Your friends always betray you and go to the other team. Always. He is also usually a pitcher better than most MLB players, and ends up laying waste to your team...

You have the power to supplant anyone, at any position, even if they are oodles better than you.

Most of your friends will have small eyes and no interesting features, hobbies, or personality.

Players in AAA are not, as a whole, any better than players in AA. When you get to AAA, your catcher is not as good as Tom, but Tom will never be promoted.

If you win the deciding game against the GalaxySharks, you then suddenly become manager for a day for the last game of the season. No one tells you, it just suddenly occurs.

You can only start games, and can never come in as a relief pitcher - UNLESS you are manager-for-a-day as above.

People can walk across water if they mash buttons hard enough.

Sittch has the ability to create alter egos at will, hide in almost anything, pitch 96mph gyroballs, and anticipate and/or know everything about you. however, he will always be at least one full direction off when searching for thieves.

Private investigators happily farm their work out to early-20s baseball players.

People continually lose their dogs, babies, and rings, and hire private investigators to obtain them.

Finding a dog is as easy as choosing Right or Left.

Dogs love Candy.

People are willing to hire you to do anything - work at a hot dog shop, private investigator's assistant, food taster/steak hunter, restaurant employee. These require no training, no effort, and often you cannot refuse.

Teams are usually made up of one decent player who can pitch/field/hit/run, and then a bunch of players that can't do any of those.

I would say Ichiro and Matsuzaka were horrible in this version in comparison to last years version where Matsuzaka was like the best pitcher in the game. I mean look how crazy they made Fukedome in this version. The japanese players definately get a boost in their stats.
I hate how hard it is to hit a batter on this version, i can only do it with someone with like a level 7 breaking ball.
Thanx everyone for adding on i especially love how dogs love candy

The thing I've learned is that you should always suspect that

1) Your friend is crazy because he thinks we're in a video game

and

2) He might be right.

I learned that when Japanese players, who don't know english, can talk to you in complete sentences in Life.

You always have to carry a pack of five cards around whenever you practice.

You can open a present, close it, and open it back up to get something different.

You can become sensible after you eat 8roast ball.

A pitching machine is a wooden box with a fielder inside it trying to throw a ball.

A trade of Matt Murton for Tim Lincecum AND Matt Cain has a 40% chance of succeeding.

Pinch runners with C speed replace runners with A speed.

My long lost dad is alive! Oh the humanity!

If you are the GM, you can make your players train in anything you want; but if you're the player, you get to choose what to train in. Whoever you are, you have to buy items if you expect to see any results at all from this training. If you are the player, the items are crappy and break after 3-4 weeks of use.

I learned that hazing usually consists of wearing dog costumes through airports.
Dogs named Massive get lost 75% more often than dogs of other names
Ghost fountains in parks will be haunted by restless teenage girls.
Chinese Combos always give you the most energy.
Chocolate gives you better practices and more carryover points.
Finally, your best friend may have a kid, probably from that lady he stalked last year...

I can regain vitality by wearing a necklace. (Recovery Necklace)

I can resist injury by wearing a necklace. (Anti-Injury Necklace)

I can resist laziness by wearing a necklace. (Anti-Sloth Necklace)

I can impress scouts by wearing a necklace. (Prince's Necklace)

My girlfriend will like me more and come around more often if I wear a specific necklace (Super Romance Necklace) but not any of the others, oh no, they're too ugly

that's a lot of necklaces!

and I'm still wearing that Gambler's Ring... and that Tourmaline Ring... and that Champion Ring (from last year)... WHY IS THERE SO MUCH JEWELRY?!?!
