I just arrived in my house, I went to see Australia's rout of Mexico. It was sad, because Vinny Castilla, Mexico's manager, was a great player but he lacks the intelligence of a manager, flaw that cost Mexico the "easy-win" game. All the lefties got hits, and the supposed strength of our national team, the pitching, went on vacation tonight. Oliver Perez is a coin toss, and we got the losing side tonight. Hope we can still turn this thing around and qualify for Round 2.

nice recap. i missed this game and was shocked when i read the box score. mexico picked up the win monday night in the elimination game. this is probably the only time i will ever root for padres players (gonzalez and scott hairston)!!

And Edgar Gonzalez (he's the 2nd baseman). Too bad Alfredo Amezaga got hurt, I always liked how he plays. Good baserunner and utilityman.
