Hey everyone!

As most of you DON'T know, I'm a aspiring artist, and writer. I've worked on quite a few books in the past. Like my survival book,my ( post-poned ) apocalypse book (20-74), and my newest one, which at the time, has no title. It's set in a post-apocalyptic enviornment, where a corrupt group's trying to take over the world, and owns a prison camp. It's about a guy who manages to escape, and tries to reach the rumored " Utopia " in the desert( wastelands ). If anyone here is intrested, I could maybe post up some of it. Right now, its only about 7 pages, in small print.

If you''d like to see it, or learn more about my hobby, go ahead and make the post!

Split it up. You don't want to go over the 60000 character limit.

Alrighty, i'll post it now. If anyone can think of a title: Its welcome!
Here it is....
______________________________________________________________________________
In the year 2140, a corrupt government took over the world.
Wiping out anyone who even tried to retaliate against their
evil plots. We’ve attempted everything, and we’re not
about to surrender, we will fight, to the death. Any time, any
terrain, and do anything to get back the life we’ve
known.

“I want prisoner number 119340 in my office, now!’ said
a burly officer, sitting behind a metal desk. His large
frame showed in the dim lighting.
“ Yes, sir, he will be in your office ASAP,“ A thin,
wiry troop said.

An unnaturally thin man sat on his bunk, remembering the
life he had before. They had spared him, but not his wife,
or his kids.
“Why, why’d they do this to me…..” He muttered
under his breath. For the 2 years he’d been in the camp
he’d witnessed many lives lost, most close friends or
family. He’d been planning an escape, and he planned to
execute it that night. He’d stolen a small map of the
camp from an oblivious guard, who fell asleep on the job. He
knew where every guard-post was, where all the buildings
were, and most importantly; what was in them.

The thin guard pounded on the door of the shack, where the
prisoner he’d been ordered to get was in.
“I wonder if he’s even in here….” He pounded a bit
louder, and soon heard creaking inside the shack. Soon the
door opened. He spotted a small identity badge on the man’s
battered, torn and dirty uniform. It read 119340.
“ Get on the ground now!” He screamed in an assertive
voice. The prisoner obeyed, and lay stomach down on the
dirt-covered floor of the shack.

No! The man thought. Everything was perfect, until now. All
the hours he put into planning, the daring attempts at
stealing supplies, all wasted time. He heard the familiar
click of hand cuffs. He soon felt a cold, round object
touch his head lightly. It took him a minute to realize,
but noticed it was a gun barrel. He had to obey his
capturer, or else the only other option was death.

The guard brought the man around the house, into the dark
side of the camp.
“ Listen Jack, I’m your uncle. I hate this situation as
much as you do. “
“Why do you know my name! “ the prisoner responded in
a harsh whisper
“ I’m your uncle, before the war, I was a normal man,
but got forced into this job.”
“ why are you telling me this? So you don’t get killed
by me before you lead me to my death? “
“No, so I can lead you away from your death, I’m
letting you go. “
“ Why? You’re a soldier? “
“I’m an uncle. Listen Take this knife, and meet me at
midnight, that’s when the guard shifts change, in this
exact place, I’ll give you your supplies, and you’ll
leave. Now get going back into that shack before the guards
get suspicious.”

HERE IT IS!!
________________________________________________________________

As he walked back to the general’s hut, he wondered if
he’d done the right thing. He’d be able to tell the
guard he escaped, and tell them he saw footsteps somewhere
on the other side of camp.
He opened the door, and told the general: “Sir, the man
escaped. I saw footsteps off to the south-east.”
“ What! That little American weakling! No prisoner
escapes in my camp! Send guards out in every direction! I
want him back, dead or alive! “

The prisoner sat on his bunk, anxious to escape what had
been his heck. He didn’t know the war-torn lands that
lied around the camp. As he looked out the hole in the
wall, that was supposed to be a window he noticed, that
even if he died out there, he wanted to die a freeman.

The bulky general half ran, and half waddled over he the
barracks. “Arm up men!” He shouted, “We’ve got an
escaped prisoner! I want teams of 5 out in every direction!
Get him back to me, dead or alive!” Men started scrambling
to grab the rifles that had been sitting on or next to their
bunk-beds.

The prisoner had been peacefully thinking about what life
would be like once he escaped, but his thoughts were
interrupted by a pounding on the door.
“ Come in!” He said.
“Jack, they’ve sent out guards looking after you,
you’re going to have to stay here for a little while.”
He handed the prisoner a new outfit, looking like the same
except it was adorning the number 119341. He put it on, and
thought about what to say.
“ Are you sure they won’t catch me?”
“ Yes, the general couldn’t care less about a prisoner,
to him you’re just another dumb American"
“ ok, but what about you, doesn’t he know that you’re
my uncle?” He thought, he wanted to eliminate anything at
all that could possibly foil their plan.
“ No, I didn’t even want to have this job. He recruited
me, and made me a guard against my own will, now just get
some rest and lay low for a few days, I’ll tell you when
we’re able to leave.“

The next few days were rough for the tired prisoner; he’d
been put on road-duty. He was out 12 hours a day, and
sometimes even longer swinging a pick-axe into the loose,
dusty sand. The thin meals didn’t help. They usually had
watered-down ale, or water, and usually small slices of
meat that would normally be considered dog-food. He worked
for 12 days, in the grueling heat.

After 12 days of being on high-alert, he finally heard the
news they’d called off the search. They’d said he was
dead. Though he was actually very much alive. He knew that
now was his time, He had to escape now, or else he wouldn't
be able to at all.

The guard had prepared everything for Jack to have. The
items in the small cloth ruck-sack included a knife, a
small canteen, 25 feet of rope, a lighter, and a pan. He'd
also give him a loaded rifle and a shovel when he let him
go. He hoped that he'd eventually make it to a rumored
"haven" that everyone in the camp talked about. It was
rumored that a group of survivors, or escapees rather had
settled in the desert, and lived. Everyone imagined the
place as if it were a heaven on earth.

Jack was getting anxious and pressured as the time for him
to leave slowly came. He had images in his head about what
would happen out there, he hoped he wouldn't die, but knew
he had a high-chance.

The guard tried to hide the leather ruck-sack as he ran to
the cabin Jack was in. He knew that any guard being found
helping a prisoner would be executed, but he'd have to take
this risk. He walked up to the cabin, as he did everyday to
every other cabin, but this time he wasn't giving out food,
he was busting out a prisoner.

Jack heard a pounding on the door, and instantly knew that
it was time. He took a deep breath, and opened the door. It
was a familiar face, and he let him in.
" Jack, its time. I've given you some supplies, including a
shovel, and a loaded gun. You know how to shoot, right? "
" Yes, but why? Things actually live out there? "
" Probably not, but you never will know. We haven't seen
anything that you'd recognize as a domestic animal in a
long time."
" Ok, so it’s for......safety reasons " He said, sounding
slightly scared.
" Yes, supposedly there’s a haven to the north. I want you
to reach that place. It might look like anything, for all
we know, it’s a big carved-out rock, or it could be just a
little tent. For that matter though, we don't even know if
it exists."
" I'll find that place, and crush this menacing machine of
an army, and you'll help me.” He said, trying to hide how
scared he was about leaving.
" We will, if we ever get the chance. Now leave while the
suns still up in the sky. Take a hat, and cloth to cover
you face in the case of a sand-storm." He said, handing
him a fedora and red bandanna.
" Yes, I'll leave now. "He said putting on the bandanna,
to hide all the features of his face, except his eyes.
" You'll need to walk for about a day straight to be out of
range, now leave, you'll need to make good time. "
" Yes, thank you for this" He said, turning around towards
the door.
" Now go, the guard shifts are changing now, run!” The
prisoner began to run in a full sprint, and ran like that
for nearly 10 minutes, until he was out of the sight of the
guard."
