Mr. President's name is actually spelled with one "R".

he carries himself well. it seems, unlike the idiot he's replacing, he posesses actual tact. and hopefully, nobody tries to asshoesinate him
I know one thing though, as I've learned through life, if you relate to most of the folks you meet, ethnicity tends to be largely irrelevant. One thing I'm hoping for (but likely won't happen anytime soon) is that he does something about a "leader" who watched over the implosion of his own country's once-thriving economy to the point that bread there cost $10 million at one point recently. I, of course, speak of Zimbabwe's Robert Mugabe.

check my sig for the best GB quote ever! (actually put it on there now, forgot i only had it on my email sig...)
btw, he should do very well.
anyone hear the final benediction?:

“We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back,
when brown can stick around,
when yellow will be mellow,
when the red man can get ahead, man, and when white will embrace what's right”

A page one article in the WSJ Tuesday about Barack Obama incorrectly stated the last president to come from Illinois was Abraham Lincoln. President Obama was born in Hawaii, and President Lincoln in Kentucky. Both were Illinois residents when they took office though.

Just thought you guys would like to know that. That media! Man!

I just came back from the inaguration, it was amazing. When Bush was on the screen, everyone sang, "Na na na na, Na na na na, Hey hey hey, goodbye" Perhaps it was a bit too disrespectful, but I don;t care, it was worth it. I'm so tired from standing out there for 8 hours, but it was definetly worth going.

I don't think Obama will be a super great president, but he is not going to be a bad one. George Bush isn't a idiot, he just made decisions which Americans don't agree on. If it passed through both the Senate and the House, are you calling Congress idiots? Personally, I don't like Obama's choice for his cabinets. Hillary Clinton does not have enough forgein experience to be Secretary of State. Also, the Secretary of Treasuray is a young promising guy, however, in this economy crisis, we need a guy with experience to help Obama. Also, he had his own tax problems, kinda ironic right?

I think Barack Obama's being over hyped as some sort of miracle worker. Every leader promises positive change and for the country to "go forward" and a lot of the time it's all talk.

I used to pretend to like George W Bush just to annoy pseudo-intellectuals who didn't know anything about politics and only hated him because it was trendy. Good times.

That's true. The reason is because he has run what I belive is the best campaign in Ammerican History. His brilliant use of propaganda through imagry was extreamly effective. There was nothing immoral about what he did, but such things send subtle imagies in your brain that your not even aware of. He connected himself to Lincoln and Martin Luther King all the time. Let me give you one example.

Look at the picture at the end of my post. I'll tell you what each image suggest to your mind. The suit shows that he is a man of the people, a buisness man who will get things done. His tie (red power tie) is red, and red is the color of change. The white is a symbol of purity. The light blue gives a feeling of hope. There is darkness arround the picture, with light shining on Obama showing he will lead us through dark time. He is looking out like he is a thinker and a wise man.

See what I mean? And you probably didn't think of any of this when you first saw the picture.

Leave Bush alone guys. He wasn't a terrible president. Don't look at the bad things look at the good things he did.

The expectations for Obama are to high, hopefully he'll pull through.

And guys, don't even talk about assassination.

Of course. I should have seen it coming. You like bush. The most unlikely position to have, yet of course, you have it because I so strongly disagree with it. Haha, of course. Want to hear my reasons against him (I can only think of one good thing he did, and that was investment in AID's prevention).

What???!!! Not even considering how he handled 9/11 so smoothly??? When Bush invaded Iran after 9/11, Bush's approval rating went through the roof at 96%. Later, when he invaded Iraq, his rating nosedived, and that's the reason he's hated today. He had an awesome half of a term, and ruined it with his other one and a half.

I never said I liked Bush. I'm glad he's gone but I don't say he's a terrible president.

Iraq has become a safer place now and we've arrested and killed alot of terriosts there. Still, the Americans there defending want to come home. And remember, think what COULD have happened if we didn't invade Iraq. And again, I'm not saying I'm for it.

Smoothly? For one day. Actually, for the first week or so, he did exellent. We did a fantastic job attacking Alkida in Afghanistan right away. Then we had him. And then we went to Iraq and left him there. I mean seriously, it's not enough to go into the most expensive war in American history, but why not cut off half our income and lower taxes at the same time? And you wonder why the economy is so screwed up.

Now, their are three things that make a president's aproval raiting soar up (it was never 96!). Be attacked by another country (well, not another country here, but still), be shot at, or die. He did the first. He holds the record the highest and lowest aproval rating in American history. I don't think he deserves either, but he definetly deserves one much more on the lower half.

I thought of another good thing he did. He did set up wild-life preservations in the oceans, which was very good.
Edit after seeings Mario's post:
What could have happened in Iraq if we didn't invade it? There were zero terrorist there. They were all in Afghanistan, which we already knew but we still attacked Iraq anyway (and which Bush lied about). We should have gone to a place even worse off, like Darfur, or maybe, Afghanistan!!! Afghanistan is where Alkida is and was.

My frustration is not targeted at either of you, but more at Bush. I get myself riled up easily when I think about it haha.
