So, I put this in free for all because this doesn't specifically have to do with either.

I'm contemplating switching from the 08 version back to the 07 version. For some reason I really can't have much fun in the 08 version, and I had a lot in the 07 version. But, I really like the new features in the 08 version. Decisions, Decisions...I still have to go back and pop in the original version to see if that fun factor is still there. I think it may have been something to do with I actually felt sort of attatched to the characters I made in success mode since it's about college and not minor leagues. I think that could be because in the new sucess mode I just basically neglected to do anything besides just playing(and I tried to change that but it never worked out). Just curious, has anyone else felt the same way?



PS, I am in no way trying to bash the new version, just some personal observations and wanted to see if I was alone in thinking this or not.

personally i feel its easier in 07 and also, most abilities have been found in success mode. In 08, you have MLB life and success where there are some abilities not found yet. In 07, for a pitcher, its possible to get both intimidator n gyroball. In 08, its harder. I find that i perfer 08 more, well since there are more updated stats and i find success mode more challanging.

Personally I like the success in 07, it's more simple and I'm too lazy to think in '08, even when I'm making some average characters
but the good thing is that they can be maxed out
Also, '08 has the MLB life mode, which is the mode I'm choosing to create my characters

I actually played the 07 version for a few days then i remembed, the stats were messed up big time there, for some reason I like the season mode music in 07, i dont know why but it was soemthing i remembered in 07, and the other part I liked was that there were so many players in that game too, AND in 07 the pitchers dont get tired as much, like for instance I could pitch like 100 pitches with oswalt or peavy without him getting injured, go back to 07 and see if its still as good, O ya and sucess mode is more fun in 07 too

i've been playing 07 for the last few days and it just seems more fun than 08 for some reason, of course you have to edit players like pedroia and tulowitzki, and create players like braun, ellsbury and longoria etc, i just had more good times in 07, like for some reason using the red sox, i loved interleague play for some reason and then this year in this year power pros, it just doesnt seem as fun, and for some reason i loved using doug mirabelli too in 07:D

I still like 08 but right now 07 is more fun

Yeah, I have played the 07 version a lot since posting this and am actually having fun with the game again. About the young stars in the league, I'm way ahead of you brother, I kept my rosters updated until the new game came out, while editing their ratings too. I'm really not sure what it is that makes the two games seem so different to me, but there has to be something there. Anyway, for now I'm only using 08 for my life mode, and if I ever finish my career in that I doubt I'll start another one after that. I even started playing my cubs season I had going on 07 again. A lot of the team is made up people in success mode, which I only s/l for 4 or 5 of them so most of them are mediocre players and it's giving me a fun challenge.

I'm pretty much putting 08 away for awhile, I had to get a new wii, so i have nothing in 07 anymore except ive created ellsbury, one thing that I noticed was thta in 08 when you had contact hitter or a high contact rating, that they always batted around 250, when in 07 they had high contact ratings like mauer or guerrero, that they hit over 300 every year, ichiros contact in 08 is F right now cause 1.)hes old and cause he could never hit higher than 250 in this game, and brad ausmus always bats like 360 or 370 each season, so the abilities are a bigger deal in 07, I like 07 better, end of story

edit-I've been posting here alot cause I know exactly how it feels to switch to 07, and also I like the 07 theme song better too
