Nah, I'd say his chances of going to Boston are slim to none. Where will he play? DH? That's Ortiz, and he can't play first anymore. Left Field? That's Bay. Center? Ellsbury, and he couldn't really play that. Right? JD Drew. I personally wouldn't consider Boston in the running. I don't know who would be interested. What about Abreu? After Manny's gone, he's considered the next-best hitter. (I'm going to miss Abreu, he was one of my favorite players). |

And Ortiz plays damn good first base actually.... With some work in Spring Training, he's a great 1st baseman. There have been many rumors the BoSox might give an offer to Abreu actually. And although we all know cownip will deny this, it's true. |

Mariners. What about Adam Dunn? |

Dunn could take the place of Baldelli in RF. The Rays really need another power guy other than Longo and Pena. Upton and Crawford are good for 20-30 Pena an Longo can get 40-50. So they don't really need him, but with a young team, a leader is always good. |

Dunn gives you 40HR and 100 walks, Rays need to pay alot, let say 14 million, and mabye 3-5 years. I doubt they would spend that money. Who knows, Yankee's might make a mindless offer to both Burrell and Dunn. |

But think about this, with all the money the Rays made last year, and now that they are known, they will be be getting more fans and more money, so that 14 mil could be made up. I think they could actually. |

I mean i don't think they would offer 14 mil. Carl Crawford is their highest paid at 8mil or something. They might have reached the world series, but i doubt the GM is willing to spend so much money. Dunn is a good player and would fit into number 3 or 4 spot. If the GM wanted to spend money, they would have tried to bid for some players. Dunn is at his peak and might want a long term deal, which the rays might not want to give to him. |

Ortiz at first? I don't really remember seeing him play that much, but I've heard everywhere that him playing first isn't even a possibility. That's how bad he is, plus he gets injured to easily there. I'm pretty sure it's a widely accepted that Francona won't play him there, or have you hear differently (really, have you, not meant to be malicious at all)? Drew gets injured that much? He's just below all-star quality, why replace him? I just don't see there being any chance. |

I live outside of Boston, I would know. Ortiz plays first pretty well. Drew does get injured that much. I know that was hypothetically. 14million isn't that much, and since Dunn hasn't many offers (if any) he may have to accept a short deal. |

I'm sorry Mario, but you're definetly wrong on this one. He can't play firstbase due to constant injuries and bad knees. Look it up, I did to confirm just in case. He is a terrible fielder now. I even checked with a few die-hard Boston fans who are my friends. They told me he was horrendous at fielding (I slipped it into the conversation haha). |
