As of now that is the only players announced to as part of the trade. WTF i personally do not think this deal is a good one. I mean yes Marquez was not that good but Nick Swisher? He has a life time average at .254 and this season he hit .219 with 24 homers and 69 RBI. Besides the Yankees already have Matsui, Damon, Gardner, Cabrera, Nady for next season. The Yankees should also keep abreu in my opinion i mean he has been amazing for the yankees as their number 3 hitter. I say they need to give gardner a chance he really showed great improvement toward the end of september, and he is young so they should let him try at least. Also if Gardner did not do good they still had damon to rely on as CF so it wouldnt really hurt. As a yankee fan i can understand what just happend here am i missing something is Swisher really good? What do you guys think EDIT: They also traded IF Wilson Betemit and Jhonny Nunez to chicago as part of the deal and also received Minor league Pitcher Kanekoa Exeira The final deal IF Wilson Betemit, P Jhonny Nunez, P Jeff Marquez traded for OF/1B Nick Swisher, P Kanekoa Texeira After reading around i kind of understand the deal only if Swisher would be a utility man i mean we dont need betemit any more we have Cody Ransom for infield we just really need to keep abreu. |

The Yanks are in panic stage from not even making the playoffs this year. The first sign of panic is that you fail mentally. I don't really know though. |

They are also sending over Jhonny Nunez and Wilson Betemit. I think this is a poor trade for the Yankees, they gave up more prospects. However, they need a 1B, plus he can play OF if needed at ANY time. He had like a .214 AVG, but 24 HR. btw, add a T next to Exeira, it's Texeira, like Mark. I hope he tears his achilles tendon |

^ Yes he can but we dont want another Giambi we want a Texeira who can hit for power as well as good avg or OBP I really how Swisher ends up being a utility player but he is a star so he really shouldnt be. Could he mabye be used as trade bait? |
