I think Aaron Harang has a pretty slick Slurve |

Cut-Fastball-Mariano Rivera, the only guy to be at all decent with one pitch, let alone a hall-of-famer and the best closer in the game. He is so bad in this game because the game can't show the quality of his cut-fastball, if it did he would be the best closer or one of the best (at this point in his career). |

Mabye he should get a orginal pitch next year. I think Brad Lidge is also a good 1 pitch pitcher. |

No, he isn't a 1-pitch pitcer, he's the average relieving 2-3 pitch guy, throwing 95% sliders and fastballs. Mariano throws 99.9% cutters with 1 fastball/2-seamer every 10-15 innings and two years a go he threw one change-up, but it was probably a mistake. Do you know that when he first came up, he was known for an fantastic change-up? Haha, he abandoned that the moment he came up as a reliever. I think lidge very rarely also throws in a cutter or changeup. Is this list all time or today? If it is, almost all the pitches are impossible to determine. I mean you could proably give cutter to Mariano and a few other pitches to some pitchers also, but the vast majority would be insane. The fastball would be hell to figure out. |

Lidge never throws anything other than two different sliders. (and obvioulsy a fastball) One for a strike, and one he buries and depends on Ruiz to block. that is why i edited him to have v-slider 4. PS. When i was typing strike, i hit the "k" key by accident right after ![]() |

actually I looked it up, combined, he throws the changeup and cut 1% of the time. So he almost never does, but he occasionly will. |

Also, pretty obvious, but Wakefield is the only guy that throws a knuckler, isn't he? Thats like being the best blocking QB in football, almost nopne of them do it. |

Give me a few months to cool off and I'll just dislike them a lot. That's the cycle I always go through. It'll take 4-5 months if they win tonight ![]() Wakefield is definetly the best active knuckler, but he is by no means the best all time. He's up there, but I know one whose much better whose name doesn't come to mind haha. He's still has a pretty good one all the same. I didn't get the impression he was yelling, I thought he was kidding around and saying how we didn't even mention wakefield yet. I didn't because I wasn't sure if it was active or all-time. |

Depends on what you mean by "best." Zoom may hit the highest number on the radar gun, but his fastball doesn't have much life and it is telling that he can't even supplant Todd Jones as closer on that team. Off the top of my head, I'd be inclined to go with Zumaya's teammate Justin Verlander for best fastball. Verlander can reach triple digits on the gun, and his fastball has great life. Lincecum's is great too, as is Peavy's. For slider I'd go with Felix Hernandez, though you can quibble and say his is more of a H-SLD. Forget Zito - his stuff is just a shadow of what it was 5 years ago. Likewise Rivera, he is an all-time great and had a great year, but he gets by as much if not more on experience and command as he does stuff. His cutter isn't what it used to be. You gotta put Johan Santana in the SLV discussion. He throws that more than a pure CB. |

I don't think his is the highest, I know Joba throws 103 occasionaly and I think he once threw 104/105. Actually, I know he's way to young to throw in the conversation and to be fair I haven't seen enough of the other pitchers to really compare them, but he has an incredible fastball as well with pin-point control and good movement. I think widely because of his fastball he struck out 12-13 batters per 9 innings with a little over 100 innings pitched, by far the most for that amount (I think CC was second with 10). |

Erm, its pretty obvious that Zito has the best 12-6 curve or curve. (Not from MLBPP08) There are some people that throws a knuckleball, but only wakefield does it so well. King Felix's slider is not really as good as lidge's |
