When your on this site.
When you can recite on the spot the first-baseman who played on the Yankees from the current one decending to the first (and any position or team for that matter).
Whe you create a thread that's called "Re: You know you're an avid baseball fan when....".
When you would quite literally give 10,000 dollars for your team to win 6 of the last 6 games and another 10,000 for the Red Sox to lose them. Actually, I only have about a fourth of that, but I'd be more then willing to have that debt and work it off with my job.

I roughly know Derrek Lee's VORP, and I'm using the formula to find my success player's VORP.

when you memorize all of Yogi Berra's quotes.
when you know the infield fly rule, when it was implemented, and if it applies on a bunt.

Post subject:  Re: You know you're an avid baseball fan when....

Does it apply to a bunt?

You're so cruel. I just won't PM you because you're bound to tell anyway.

When you memorize all the managers in the history of the Yankees.

Woopee! I'm cruel! Yay!

anyway the correct answer is no, the infield fly rule does not apply on a bunt.

(so yeah, on a popped up bunt an infielder who has done his homework could just drop the ball and start a double/triple play :) )

When you force people to PM you so you can tell them whether the infield fly rule applies on a bunt

and then tell the answer.

I knew you would cough it up

When you watch A-Rod catch a pop-upped bunt with the bases loaded by making a terrific diving play but you scream at him for not dropping it and getting the triple play.

Post subject:  Re: You know you're an avid baseball fan when....

why is the batter bunting with the bases loaded anyway?

on topic: when you know every single time that a batter was intentionally walked with the bases loaded.

when you know the names of the pitchers who were intentionally walked more than once in their careers.

when you know the leaders for career sacrifice flies and career GIDP's by a pitcher.

:)
