But there's no place for MLBPP general.

What abilities would you add to another MLBPP game if you could? I just have one:

Another slot for 2 neutral abilities, fastball hitter and breaking ball hitter.

Fastball hitter hits the fastball better and the breaking ball worse, and vice versa for breaking ball hitter.

More fielding-based abilties. The only ones are:
Cannon arm (of only)
Pivot Man (2nd & ss only)
Gd/Grt catcher (catcher only, duh)
Gold Glove
Throwing 4
Add:
Good pickoff catcher
Gun arm (3rd baseman ability)
Digger (good at digging balls out of dirt (1st)

I don't have a name for this one, but...

can predict pitcher/batter's thoughts

(like having a psychic goggle but in season mode too)

digger would be better named scooper, like scooping balls out of the dirt, just a suggestion

for the psychic one, maybe Predictor? Clairvoyant? Genius Hitter?

I don't like that idea, that would make season even easier. Also, their would be no one that would have that.

Really smart hitters can tend to guess correctly on pitches. They study the pitchers tendencies during specific counts, situations, etc. It would probably be as common as Trash Talk or Gyroball, very few would have it

That's by studying video, something like that would and SHOULDN'T ever happen, that would be a bad ability in my opinion.

i say make it like intimidator, obtainable by a girl or something. personally, i think it is cool, but obviously powerful. Make so i only feel up to getting it once only like gyroball.

I particularly like the idea about improved post season play, although I wouldn't call it Mr. October (there is only one true Mr. October, and that is Reggie Jackson. There is also only one Mr. November, and that is Derek Jeter haha). Maybe clutch hitting could effect how you play in the post-season (Good Clutch-Hitters are good post-season players and vice versa 95% of the time). This could go in the 08 general discussion as things you want updated for 09.

agreed. that would be a great addition to the game and make the players even more realistic. there are a ton of players that totally excel/choke in the postseason.

i can do that with Rock Paper Scissors!

Odawali (I think) mentioned the abilitiy Knuckle Catcher, an ability that catchers have which allows them to catch a KN. The KN is really powerful if its a high level and this would help balance it out. It could also go the other way and have a red ability, but I wouldn't know what to name it.

If your going to have Mr. October as a blue ability, why not follow the Yanks again and call those who are post-season flukes Mr. May or Mr. April haha. They choke up in September and in decisive moments. My favorites so far are Mr. October/what it would be called, Mr. May/whatever is would be called, Knuckle Ball Catcher, Good at Guessing, and goood Scooper. If the game allowed catchers to pick-off, then that ability is a good idea, otherwise its uselss. I like the good at guessing not as a blue ability per-say but a green one. When your not controlling, the play will have a good idea of what pitch will come next. Some players (Like Lou Pinella for example) were/are very good at guessing and figuring out what the next pitch will be. Perhaps these guys will have a good chance and be able to sit on certain pitches and hit these particularly well. This way, its not too overpowering but still realistically affects those players who guess pitches in the game.

maybe psychic goggles could carry over, but have a less likely chance of being correct. Also, there could be an ability for pitchers to counter that. It would also kind of go with Poker Face, because if you don't show any emotion, they can't tell what you're doing. Just a thought...

Still overpowered and unrealistic. We want baseball stats to make sense and not be mystical as this isn't meant to be a compleatly fictional (besides Success) and unrealistic game with power-ups and fantasy abilities but one based on real physics and actual statistics.
