You have the numbers 7 7 7 7 and your supposed to put signs between them to equal 100. Apparently it's possible with 2 signs. I've been trying for hours and haven't gotten any closer.

I know how to get 78...

So umm is this homework?

Has anyone tried exponents?

Not really. It's kind of a bonus question and it's been driving me crazy. Here's another one but I already know both ways to do it. 5+5+5=550, you can draw one straight line in any direction to make the statement true.

I got the closest so far...

7! (seven factorial = 7x6x5x4x3x2x1) +7, then divide by (seven times seven) equals 103 :mrgreen:

Oh and by the way in response to your recent post...

5x5x5 DOES NOT EQUAL 550 :mrgreen:

Like I said try exponents.

Hmm let me see.

7x7=49+7x7= hmm nope

(7+7)7x7= nope

(7x7)7x7= ummm nope

Actually, wait. I think it's a trick question: 7 isn't a multiple of 100 so how can you reach it with only 7s?

Wouldn't surprise me one bit. They're always using trick questions.

It's addition not multiplication. And yeah that's the one that I originally found.
