What a hit! Jeter has just tied Lou Gherig for the most hits ever as a Yankee and he did it in Yankee and Jeter dramatic fashion. He hit a homer onto the staircase in right field! Incredible! The Yankees were winning 6-3 (now 7-3) after knocking Jackson out in two innings. The potential future ace of the Rays named David Price came up and pitched his first game ever. He pitched a fantastic 2 innings without giving a hit and I think 4ks. He gave up his first and only hit in three innings to Jeter and a hit that he will remember for a lifetime. Well, he might have done it otherwise with his potential, but he is now part of history! |

Thanks haha. He missed the cycle with a triple. Imagine, not only tieing Lou Gherig for most hits as a Yankee with a majestic homer, but passing with not only a triple but a cycle completion! Haha, if only! |

I actually like the Rays, despite the fact that the Yanks would be a big compeititor for the wild card without em'. I like seeing a new team do well and they play good quality baseball. Good pitching, good defense, small ball and clutch hitting. Those are what makes up the best teams in baseball, not power. Its good to have a power guy on your team, but average and clutch is worth more. |
