so, I had an idea (that morphed into another, very different idea)

the original idea:

-- start a historical file in OOTP, using 2008 rosters
-- team can only have players from PP08
-- basically survival mode, just see how long you can go with a full 25-man roster of only PP08 guys

the idea it turned into:

-- draft the best possible team based on potential rating
-- attempt to develop the most ridiculous dynasty this world has ever seen
-- also all players drafted (81 rounds) have to be 25 or under

the team that resulted:

(includes the following players)
-- Felix Hernandez
-- Clayton Kershaw
-- Gio Gonzalez
-- Zach Britton
-- Craig Kimbrel
-- Kenley Jansen
-- Greg Holland
-- Buster Posey
-- Anthony Rizzo
-- Freddie Freeman
-- Jose Altuve
-- Daniel Murphy
-- Josh Donaldson
-- Elvis Andrus
-- Brandon Crawford
-- Jean Segura
-- Brett Gardner
-- Carlos Gonzalez
-- Jay Bruce
-- Mitch Moreland
-- Steven Souza

and a bunch of other fringy/solid regular types

so yeah I'm pretty excited to see how this pans out, I'll probably try to post updates in here if anything major happens but yeah

Opening Day 2008 matchup was Greg Maddux vs. Clayton Kershaw

(we lost)

we're quite bad, actually

I changed the idea

also it *(censored)* sucked so we're onto the next idea: dump every active pro baseball player into a pool and hold a 270-round fantasy draft, rebuilding teams from scratch
