henlo,, 1) if you have Steam what is your username? we should all add each other 2) how many games do you have? what's the most you've played of a game? 3) what do you consider to be a good ratio of $ spent to hours played of a game? I've read anywhere from $0.50 to $1.00 per hour my answers: 1) my username is wakkowarner214. pls add me 2) I only have 3 games since I just got steam a few months ago (Tabletop Simulator, Town of Salem, OOTP 18). the most I've played is OOTP 18 at 58 hours 3) I use the $1/hour ratio, so: OOTP 18 -- $36 (got it on sale) -- 58 hours and counting. success! Tabletop -- $20 -- 11 hours. a bit behind, but it's possible that I'll play more with my college friends next year?? Town of Salem -- $2.50 (sale again) -- 2 hours, tiny failure but I still play every once in a while overall Not Bad!! even at the $0.50/hour rate I'm still barely behind and I play OOTP enough to more than make up for any deficits I have right now |

1) My username is jeagle9 and my nickname is sauce. 2) lots 3) don't care about hours if its fun enough. some must-buys for steam are Rocket League, Kerbal Space Program, and personally, I like H1Z1:KotK and Civ 6. EDIT: I should probably get OOTP 18. EDIT 2: OOTP 18 is actually imo pretty boring. |

I really like the idea of being able to know how much you've played of a particular game, especially with regards to future purchases. I.e. playing a shit ton of OOTP18 means it's probably worth it to buy next year, whereas if I only played a few hours of a game I probably would be less inclined to buy the next version. Civ looks really fun. A lot of my friends have Civ V (which is cheaper) but I've been super into OOTP lately, plus Town of Salem as a change of pace/cool way to kill some time and yes I would highly, Highly Recommend OOTP 18. well worth the price imo |

I used to have steam, would be willing to try it again but idk if my laptop can handle it. I had Tabletop Simulator (for CaH/etc) and was thinking of getting Gary's Mod too (prop hunt anyone?). we should absolutely play Town of Salem, cuz u know I love mafia! maybe Jackbox - it seems fun but haven't been able to try it with friends yet. I'm interested to see what else u guys suggest. edit: my name is pureo_nikku, will be adding u guys as we speak. says I logged 28 hours, that's impossible!! I remember cuz a few of my friends said they were going to get the aforementioned and I don't think we ended up playing them ![]() |

1) Nuxh 2) OOTP 16 (I'm cheap), Game Dev Tycoon, Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, Papers Please, Civ 5, SimCity 4, Undertale, and a handful of games I got in a humble bundle that I don't play. I've logged 396 hours in OOTP 16. Civ 5 is a close second at 34. 3) $1/hour seems fair for games with high replay value, but games like Sherlock Holmes that are really only good once through I'd value at maybe $2-3/hour (Usually looking for 20 hours of gameplay out of a story-based game). |

"Close second," eh? Also yeah, good point! I tend to buy games with pretty high replay value but that's a good distinction to make |

1. twerav for me 2. I've got 24 games, my most played on steam would be Fallout: New Vegas at 47 hours, which I have to say I enjoyed a lot more than I expected (it's probably one of my favorite games tbh). Knights of the Old Republic is right behind it at like 34 or somethin 3. Purely fun/enjoyment factor. I don't like the $1/1 hour thing that much, though that's mainly because I play story based games. Developers who stretch their games to hit that 40-60 hour mark and can't produce a solid story throughout are v problematic. I'll gladly shell out $60 for a great 10-15 hour experience. That being said, games under maybe 8 hours shouldn't be full priced imo I don't use steam all that often, since I've only got a Mac, but hmu nonetheless boyos C: |

2) According to Steam I have 222 games (although it says 225 on a different part of Steam, not sure what the difference is), over 70 of those are games I haven't gotten around to trying yet and like 50+ I'm sure are games I never had any interest in (bundles do inflate game numbers a bit). Most played are Rocksmith 2014, at 352 hours, and skipping a game I choose not to recommend, Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale, at 111 hours, Chantelise: 85 hours, Valkyria Chronicles: 75 hours, and so on... 3) I do use $1/hour as a guideline, but that's Canadian money, so probably like $0.75/hour or something to you people. But it is just a guideline, there are some games where they don't give you that much entertainment in length, but the entertainment is good enough to make up for it, and others that go really long but are just grindy garbage. |
