The commissioner walked up to the podium. "Welcome to the 2007 Major League Baseball Draft. Picking first will be last year's World Series Champions St. Louis Cardinals, even though that's not the way it works. They hacked our computers and rigged the draft and I'm giving away too much information." He was then led off the stage by some shady looking guys wearing Cardinals hats. "The Astros are picking next," Tommy John said to his parents. "If the Cardinals don't select me, I'm going to be an Astro!" Tommy John couldn't wait to play for his favorite team. Unfortunately , he would have to wait longer. The commissioner came back out. "With the first overall selection, the Cardinals take, starting pitcher Tommy John!" "Shit." -----Spring Training 2008----- Some dude named Oakley came up to me at my locker. "Dude are you ready for camp!" he asked. "Who are you? Get away from me!" I yelled back at him. He said some more things, like about some Sportscaster named Mia, before asking me if I would bet with him on whoever made the big leagues first. I said sure, as long as he would go away. He did. The managed came up to me and gave me my uniform number - #69. I tried not to laugh as he explained to me how I could make the big league roster. As long as I didn't give up a run, I would be on the team. "Good deal," I said as he walked away. Our first game was the next day against the Houston Astros, my favorite team. As much as I didn't want to have to face my favorite team, coach put me out there in the seventh inning. Our starter, Braden Looper, had tossed 6 no-hit innings. Kazuo Matsui led off against me and slapped an 0-2 single into right field. The next batter singled too, and soon it was two men on and none out. I got a ground out on the next batter, but now in stood Carlos Lee. WHAT DO I DO? A. Throw offspeed B. Throw fastballs C. Pitch outside D. Bean him |

I threw a Curveball and he took the bait, grounding into an inning ending double play. I pitched a 1-2-3 8th inning, and struck out the side in the ninth. The manager said he was impressed with me. I also broke my own bat, somehow. What do I do after the game? A. Play Vidya Games B. Sleep C. Practice (What Kind?) D. Call Someone (Oakley or Mia, and what to do, eat or just do something else) |

After I ran my own practice, some coach came up to me and asked if I'd like to donate to charity. "Times are tough" I told him. He went away. STATS: 86 MPH 115 CTRL 55 STAM CB 2 V-SLD 1 H-SNK 1 |
