We were just getting started with 4 wins over .500 and Wang gets injured! He has to wear a boot for 6 weeks... and there's word that he won't be able to pitch until september. :(

I honestly don't like the idea of trading for Sabathia. They'd want far too much. I'd rather take my chances with Giese or the new and improved Oakley wearing Hughes. (hey, that rhymes...)

I agree, its a real shame. I wish the NL had the DH so AL pitchers didn't get injured so much. The managers voted on it and the NL was two votes away from having it. One owner was on vacation and cell phones didn't exist at the time so he couldn't be contacted. The other told his gm to vote on whatever the coach who ended up being on vacation said. If only they had cell-phones at the time, then Wang would never be injured lol.

You're the first people I've ever heard wanting the DH rule to be universal

That's exactly what I was thinking. How boring would it be to just have an overweight terrible fielder in both leagues? Having the pitcher hit is the way baseball started, and even though I'm an Angels fan, which means I'm an AL fan, I know it would kill the fun and challenge that AL managers have in interleague play and the WS of trying to decide what to do with their pitchers.

It's not a DH's fault Wang was hurt, it was his own bad baserunning or the Yankee's coach for not having him practice all the baserunning situations properly.

Agreed. It gives a whole new meaning to home field advantage in the WS. Form some NL teams, having a DH isn't much better than just having the pitcher hitting. Most bench players in the NL are defensive subs or pinch runners. It's not often a team has a reliable bat on the bench.

Well said people like Ortiz and Giambi wouldn't be able to reach the major leagues unless they could field or had some other aspect that stuck out

Woah, lol, I was joking. As much as I hate wang's injury, the game shouldn't be changed for one pitcher lol. That story was true though. I gnerally like having the AL have the DH and the NL not too. The way it is is the way I'd like it to be. God I got so nervice when Wang got on base after seeing his awkward running.
Anyway, the Yanks are looking better. 5 games in a row. The shame is is that their not gaining many games on the Red Sox because their playing very well as well. Their still 5 games behind IK believe. Lets hope Guise does a nice job of replacing Wang. He's expected back September first, so lets hope for the best Yankee fans.

Yanks are on a six game winning streak! Moose is up next and with the way he and the bullpen have been pitching, I would not be at all surprised to see the streak go to 7. They had 24 unanswered runs in 3 games including back-to-back shutouts and 3 blowouts in a row. They had 27 runs before they gave up two. And how about that offense! Blow-out after blow-out, hitting over 8 runs four times in a row. You better watch your back Sox, because with the way the Yanks are playing, give it a few weeks and all of a sudden your 6 game (now 4 I believe) will have disapeared. Problem is, the Sox, while not doing as well as the Yanks, are on a good-streak as well. The yankees have only gained two games in the past 6 games.
Now the Yankees have 3 of the top 5 players in term of batting average (A-Rod now qualifies and is in first while Damon and Matsui are 3rd and 4th). Giambino is second in home runs and slugging avearge and his batting average is racing back towards 300. I knew he was going to recover and probably have a strong year, but who saw this coming out of Giambi after he was under 150 batting average!?
