Seriously, the Free Agent Market will absolutely suck this year. Bengie Molina is the only good catcher free agent and he is a perfect fit for the Mets. Type A though. And look at that, the Mets need a new catcher. They need two or three starting pitchers, but no good starters are Free agents and not Type A or B. Last year we signed KRod so we need a good draft this year, therefore we cant' sign Type As. If Minaya kept Wagner we could have signed an extra Type A but no. I hate Minaya, anyone could do better than him. This was one of his worst deals yet.

Beckett is a free agent if the Red Sox don't pickup his option. I hope they do then trade him to the Mariners or Padres for King Felix or Adrian Gonzalez. Preferably King Felix, he needs to be on a winning team. If he's on a winning team, he has the potential to be the next three hundred game winners barring any serious injury. He came into the league young enough. He just needs to pitch well into his thirties.

He has a record of 51-41 right now at the age of twenty-three. If he wins fifteen games like he's projected to for the next ten years, he's at a record of 201-101. That's him at thirty-three years of age, which for a lot of pitchers, has been a point where they break out and get good. If he can do it too, watch out. Being realistic though, he'll probably be a very, very good 250++ game winner. I don't see him getting three hundred wins unless he's traded to a team that's going to contend year after year for along time with terrific offense.

EDIT: Just checked the MLB website, V-Mart is going to be catching Wake tonight? I wonder if I'll be able to catch it on ESPN... probably not, I'm busy tonight. >:(

Was fooling around with the TV and made it to a show where Buster Olney was speculating that the Sox offer Wagner arbitration, trade Papelbon for some value and make a Wagner the closer for '10 season and help open the door for the closer of the future, Daniel Bard. I actually could see this happening. I found this interesting. Pap has expressed interest in wanting to pitch for the Yankees one day. I think he just wants the money though.

papelbon won't be a red sox player for long. He's rejected most of the red sox's long contracts that would keep him here for a few more years and Rivera can't be a closer forever, thats where Papelbon comes in

I knew you'd already have it up. I thought it was foul at first 3 solo shots for the Sox. 2 for Papi, good game. Watched it from the 5th on, Wake's knuckler was good tonight.

Thank goodness, he was a 5 or 6 inning pitcher that only threw fastballs. I'm suprised that Tazawa is pitching as well as he has in his small time, I didn't even expect him to be here this year until at the earliest September, I guess the red sox have good faith in him

Tazawa and Wake are doing good, making up for Becket's past two starts

Wake is really unpredictable. On his good days, his is really good. On his bad days, you would likely lose.
Tazawa is kinda new and hitters don't know much about him. The more starts he gets, the more experience he gets, but his opponents will figure him out eventually, like Matsuzaka.

Doesn't really make up for it. A 5-6 inning start from Tazawa is not good. Beckett didn't pitch bad, he just didn't have his curve going and was hanging it near the middle of the plate.

your probably right, but the good thing about the sox is how they have been hitting last week, even in the yankee series when they lost 2 out of 3, they scored 29 runs in 3 games. Ortiz has been doing amazing lately

The Yankees and Red Sox would not work out a trade together. Aside from the fact they hate each other, who would the Sox get? Joba?

Well, back in 03 or 04, the Yankees did get Johnny Damon in a trade with the Red Sox. Or am I wrong on this statement?
