Is UW inherently too big/successful a school to make this log interesting/as good as it could be?

I don't think you should do another. I've been considering starting a new NCAAF13 log of my own but I would be quitting my Indiana log. 2 logs from the same game might get boring after a while and you could end up quitting one abruptly.

Cole Marceau was dancing in a suit.

Okay, well, it was more of a strut, but to the rhythm of a song he was listening to. Still, the fact of the matter was this: the guy was unmistakably happy.

FOUR new recruits had stepped onto the Husky train, and all of them were huge hits.

One was unsurprising, for sure: Brian Williams.

The next man to sign on was Jeremy Burton, the better of the two Free Safeties Marceau was pursuing (74 OVR, ****). Cole had gotten into a heated battle with UCF over the Kentucky native, neck and neck up until the very, very end, but a scholarship offer, a visit to his Douglass Hills home plus some serious phone time had been enough to seal the deal.

Third was Jeff Nixon, a 4-star OLB who had a similar situation with Penn State, except that Marceau had signed on a little later and had played from behind the entire time. Again, a visit to New Jersey, a scholarship, plus some major "My school is better than that school" talking was the clincher, and just like that Cole had a beautiful-looking foundation for his 3-4.

And finally, after a first-week-of-the-offseason visit, countless hours spent on the phone (mainly to talk down the school that had been at the top the entire way), a scholarship, and 3 promises...

Sean Veney became a Husky.

The Sedona, AZ native, pursued by all the top schools to some degree but only seriously by 3, ended up falling Washington's way, which thrilled to no foreseeable end the man who had done all the talking. THIS was why he was swaggering down the halls; he'd gotten his #1 man.

(NOTE: Seriously, this guy is insane. Like, I'm in love, want to start this guy immediately, etc. Went from 74 to 81 OVR in scouting, has a 89-80 Speed/Strength stat, over a 70 in all running skills from Break Tackle to Juke/Spin to Vision to Trucking, 60's in Catching and a 85 in Spectacular Catch... and he'll only be a freshman. And this is before offseason training. This guy's gonna be, like, a #1 NFL draft choice. :P )

Once again, Cole was grinning; this time, with a little extra money in his bank account.

Of course, when you just got word that your recruiting class was #1 in the nation, you'd better believe there's a bonus coming your way.

The most intriguing thing about all of it was that they had done it without any 5-star recruits (though Cole obviously considered Sean Veney and Brian Williams to be that caliber, and possibly Stephen Lane as well). However, they had far and away the most 4-stars, reflecting Cole's knack for finding the underrated and going after them like a famished tiger. While a couple of last-minute losses stung (Trevor Medlock, a gem of an athlete he'd pursued late and thought he had, escaped to Mizzou, and Chris Love shocked him by heading to Arkansas instead), the gains he'd made and the talent he'd found were more than enough to offset this. He'd also kept the pipeline state of Hawaii intact by nabbing a few prospects from there, and nearly had gained Arizona in the process (next year, he told himself, Arizona and Oregon would be up there).

Not bad for a first-year in a program not exactly that of Alabama's of Texas's.

Ok, now I feel you're way over performing. The thing about a team like Washington is that they have the perks of being in a major conference, but without the luxuries that the perennial powers have. The fact that Washington (who, irl is only 7-5 and will drop from the top 25) has a 11-2 record, a rose bowl win, the number 2 overall ranking, and the top recruiting class, it just doesn't seem quite right to me

Well that is too bad. It seems you are the only one that doesn't like it...

I'm sorry, did I ever say that? I think it's a very good log with very good writing. I just believe he's doing too good (it also seems as though someone is in a pissy mood today...)

Yeah, exactly. I overachieve like hell. Seriously. -_____-

Also, this is my first time with a dynasty, so I didn't know about difficulty settings or anything. Thus, I'm suddenly Alabama or Notre Dame or whatever. I mean, the success is nice, but it seems too much (obviously?) and that's why I was pondering the the other, more small-time school log.

I would love all this good shit happening if it wasn't a log, just me personally, but it's not making for a very exciting story if suddenly Washington goes from middle-of-the-road to powerhouse in a season.

The irony is that it's wrong because I myself don't like it.
