Maybe strategy isn't the right word. Plan probably works better. If you enter an auction knowing what 16 or so players you want, you're screwed. Because you'll end up in a bidding war (probably more than once) and'll end up overbidding. My very first draft was auction because I didn't know what I was doing. Granted, you're very unlikely to get every player you want in a snake draft, but if you planned well, it's much easier.

Also, sign up guys! There's only two people so far!

Well, there's the thing. 1. You've gotta be able to adjust, and 2. If you organize your wants so that they've got a wide range of prices, then you can go for whoever you want... you obviously don't go in with just 16 players in mind and call it a failure if you don't grab all 16 of them. You get a few other preferences for each position, and work off of that. My draft queue has gone over 30 players int he middle of the draft, filled with guys I'm targeting as my Plan A, Plan B, and Plan F.

Plus, the fast pace is fun, despite the overall time it takes. *shrugs*

DTigers: It does have a little bit of a learning curve, but they do give you ESPN's value projections, average values they sell for, and you can just look at the prices in terms of draft slots if they were in a snake draft...

I say just do snake. It's easier and quicker.

I've signed up as the Phillies. I would say Snake is probably easier but I'm willing to try out Auction if you want.
