1000th post!

What do you guys think of the NFL draft last night?

Sjax, are you upset that the Rams took Bradford instead of Suh? There are still some pretty good QBs left.

I was surprised the Broncos took Tim Tebow number 25. I heard some people saying that Jimmy Clausen would go in the top 10 and he is still available for the second round. They were comparing Tebow with Clausen on TV today and everyone was saying that Clausen would have the better career, his arm angle is better and he is more of a sure thing whereas Tebow's arm delivery is a little quirky and he plays choppy.

Anyways, I would have rather had Suh over Bradford, and damn, we could've gotten Clausen and Suh in the same draft if we'd seen it coming. But nobody did.
I have faith in Bradford, though, and I will NOT end up like those Lions fans hating on Stafford after one season (ahem, DN :P).
You know why you got Stafford, Lions fans? Because your team sucks. He needs a supporting cast.

And for the record, Steven Jackson will be Bradford's best friend this season...

I wonder what Brett Favre will do this time.

Over/under count for number of times he changes his mind: 2.5 Over or under? Will he play again?

I say he will change his mind just once. I think he will retire but then come back the week before the season and play again.

I don't think he's going to do that this season, Bobby. If he did, he would've done it by now.

Also, back to the draft, I think Suh and Best will be good players for us. I always have a feeling every year that the Lions are going to do good, and after a while, I just root for the Chargers, since we're probably gonna be 1-5 at that point. But I hope Kevin Smith bounces back from that ugly injury last year, Nate Burleson takes the pressure off Megatron, and Suh will be Suh.

I'm also really surprised that Clausen and McCoy (Colt, that is) didn't get taken in the first round, and that Tebow went to Denver. I would've had Tebow as a 2nd or 3rd-round choice. But 1st? I really think the Broncos are overestimating him, IMO.

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Colt McCoy and Clausen are avalible. THE PANTHERS RISE AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seriously though, I'm really excited. If the Panthers pick for one of their other needs I would be ok as long as we draft my hometown (ok, college in hometown) hero Riley Skinner from Wake Forest

Lightning, I can tell you that if you pick Tony Pike or Dan LeFevour, you should be very happy.
Dishnetkid, both those picks were fantastic.
Rams just picked a great tackle to protect Bradford, hoping for a LB or WR in the third round...

Patriots have 3 early 2nd round picks and finally got a tight end, Robert Gronkowski or something like that

It's tough for me to decide what to watch.

Orioles @ Red Sox
Celtics @ Heat
Bruins @ Sabres
3 picks in draft in the 2nd round

all happening right now, I must have the clicker ready at all times

I know. :D :D :D My mom was looking at me like I was nuts when I was partying like it was the USA after I learned Clausen got picked by the Panthers. She didn't understand how big this was to us Panthers fans. Now I have to endure Alvin and the Chipmunks with my little siblings. I don't care. I'm already singing Party in the USA and I Gotta Feeling in my head. :jump2: :danceparty:

I just lost a sliver of respect for you right there :P

I am now praying that we get Golden Tate, he would pair up wonderfully with Donnie Avery, stretch the field easily with him and Steven Jackson, and he'd work well with Bradford's arm, not to mention giving him another target. He just has to fall to us...

EDIT: DAMMIT! He went just a couple picks before us to the division rival Seahawks!

Sorry, I don't know any rock balads not by Queen that are for celebration. I know several that pump you up, Just not celebration.

In other news, Colt McCoy fell to the Third Round last night to the Cleveland Browns (Is this the Quarterback that will finally do well for them?). Any thoughts?

It doesn't have to be relating to winning and stuff, it just has to sorta fit the mood, pump you up, all that.
Although this is good:

Anyways, Colt McCoy just went to football purgatory. I feel so bad for him.

Paul Pierce hits a buzzer beater to put the Celtics over the Heat! I'm not a real NBA fan, but I still love the Celtics. Pierce is the man.

haha. They might actuallly be decent this year, I think. 4-5 wins is decent for a team like them, right?

Steelers finally realized they need linemen. That C/G they got in the first round is insane. :ohnoes:

I forgot to say. Panthers also drafted QB/WR/RS from Appalacian State, my homie Amanti Edwards! He's a freakin beast. Watch out Saints, the new take over is happening now.

EDIT: Whoa! We got Pike too! Best draft for us in the history of the franchise
