My name is Rudy. Was born and raised in California but relocated to the Chicagoland area 2 years ago. Love playing games. Been playing baseball games since Earl Weaver Baseball on MicroLeague Baseball on the PC. Loving Power Pros and can't wait for the 2008 edition.

MicroLeague goes a ways back. I had to get a sim so that I could play that game again. It is still a fun game to play.

I've still got all my copies of MicroLeague and Earl Weaver on floppy. Been trying to find a way to play them again.

There is an emulator that you can download on the net somewhere that will let you play these games again. I will have to look for it when I get home. I'll get back to you with it.

If you can get your hands on an old, working floppy drive, get them off the floppies ASAP (god forbid you drop a magnet on them).

There are "old school DOS emulators" that emulate the old fashioned environment with 4MB RAM, "expanded", "HIGH" memory and all that jazz... When I picked up the King's Quest collection, they didn't re-port the old games to windows... they just handed out an emulator for them, Sierra's being cheap.

EDIT: yay for being sniped by Marvin... NO MORE GUNDAM ROBOTS FOR YOU!

I've always messed around with NES, SNES, and assorted emulators and I never knew there was anything for DOS games. Thanks for the info and I'll make sure to check them out.

I'm from San Diego but I hate the Padres. After they let Joe Carter go in '91, I gave up on them. Let Joe go and he wins two rings with the Jays. Way to go Pads. My favorite team is whatever team Ken Griffey Jr. is on at the moment so for now it's the Reds. When he gets traded this season, it'll most likely be the Mariners again.

I really enjoy getting insight from everyone on the boards and I hope I can help others out as well.

hey calislim, same with me. i'm from the san diego area but despise the pads though i'm a fan of some of the older players like carter and gwynn. have yet to check out petco but have some good memories of jack murphy/qualcomm. actually watched the reds battle it out against SD tonight. great game, dunn w/ a clutch HR off hoffman for the W.

Petco is a pretty nice park. I was in San Diego last summer for a Microsoft conference and was staying down there across from the convention center and right next to Petco, so I walked over and caught a game one night while I was there.

I was a Tony Gwynn fan, but other than that have never cared either way about the Padres. I have a soft spot for them having traded my all-time favorite player (Ozzie Smith) to my favorite team though :D

ozzie smith was another fun player to watch! i would give anything to see some old footage of games from back in the day... not really sure why MLB makes these games so difficult to get a hold of. i have a few vhs tapes of some games i recorded off tv from the early 90s. definitely nice to have when i get nostalgic during the offseason 8)

Hello all. I'm Swashbuckla! It's nice to meet you all. My favorite team is the Braves. I heard about this game when I was searching for a good baseball game and a friend told me about it. I go way back to baseball games on the NES like Baseball Stars 1 and 2, Baseball Simulator 1.000 (my personal favorite) and RBI Baseball. I absolutely love this game.

Welcome back! It's always good to have more PS2 users around here; we need to even it out!

Even though I don't have a PS2 I'd agree with that. It's a better community when everyone is well represented. Hopefully with 2008 the PS2 owners will be able to generate a comparable amount of Success Mode players as us Wii owners :)
