And I have school all week ;_;

Our school also had a moment of silence, right before the Pledge of Allegiance in fact.

I have a 4-day weekend starting this Friday.

I did.

There was an announcement telling us to keep 9/11 victims in out thoughts and we watched a report about one of the ordinary citizens who saved lives that day.

That pretty much made up for the lack of a moment of silence.

Well, I posted one.

My school is required to have a completely secular "moment of silent reflection" every day after th pledge of Alleigance.

But on 9/11 we were part of a movement called "I Will" which was a campaign where everyone promised to do something good in honor of the people who helped those in need on 9/11. I thought it was a better way to honor the day than I'd seen before.

Having a MOS every day seems kinda stupid... I don't see the point of that

It was passed for religious reasons. The argument was that it would be useful for kids whose religions call for silent prayer, and it wouldn't be forcing religion On others because they technically don't have to use it for prayer.

But just about everyone thinks it's stupid, so it never lasts more than 1 or 2 seconds.

Zumi, are you in a public school? With 24 hours in a day, there is plenty of time before/after school for prayer.

Yup. Public school. That requirement somehow managed to get passed. I think it's because after the argument I mentioned above was brought up, it didn't seem like a valid argument to say "but it's stupid and pointless!" (Even though it is).

I am VERY discouraged with my Writing For Publication class right now. Down to 2 people in the journalism - oh what's the word I'm looking for - "aspect" of the class...definitely not what I expected the class to be. It feels like a yearbook class to me right now, which all the other people are in, and that's not what I signed up for. *Sigh*
