MLB.com said the Red Sox were finalizing the deal. I was praying this morning when I opened up the website. My heart skipped a beat when I saw the Red Sox and Texiera, assuming they had signed him. So much for that haha. Now it's between the Angels, Orioles, or Washingington. Obviously as a Yankee fan, I'm hoping Washington gets it.

Obviously. I don't know if that is going to happen, but they have a fair chance.

I'd say it've very likely to be the Angels, then the Orioles, then Washington. But you never know. With Boston out, Angels are the clear front-runner, but the other have a decentish chance.

The Red Sox aren't out of it, they still gave him an offer. Some sites are saying it's between 25mil at Washington or 23mil at Boston. Some are saying It's between Boston, Washington, and Los Angeles. Nats are giving him 200mil. He will probably chose an AL park for his HR and a winning team over one that well, sucks.

The president are sure they are not a factor, but I don't with all rumors and story.

It pains me to know this, beacause I go to BC and I like the Rays.

But he wants location too. And, the idea of being part of building a team up can be attractive. Orioeles are definetly better then Washington, but their in the toughest division by far in the game. Washington is in a tough division, but not nearly as much so. You never know, they could build there team up and make the play-offs in 4-5 years. Your right, you never know with Boston and Borris, neither are exactly known for being honest. They said they were out of the race with Matsuzaka and they wouldn't bid for him, but they came back and compleatly over-bid him. Still, it's more likely then not that they've given up.

The Yankees should go after Manny. Trade Matsui for some pitching and here we are:

Yankee Rotation '09:
Sabathia
Burnett
Wang
Joba(i would rather him inthe pen and turn him into the next closer when Mariano leaves)
Pettite/Hughs

Yankee Line-Up '09:
Damon-LF
Jeter-SS
Teixeria-1b
Manny-DH
A-Rod-3rd
Nady-RF
Cano-2b
Posada-C
Swisher-CF

They won't sign Manny, after spending over 400 million, it jus doesn't make sense to sign a 36 year old slugger who wants a A-Rod type of salary. That would be five 20 million players. A-Rod, Tex, Jeter, CC, Manny. Matsui will stay at DH, batting 6/7. Nick would move to LF, Damon moving to CF. So, it would look something like this.
1) Damon LF
2) Jeter SS
3) Tex 1B
4) A-Rod 3B
5) Nady RF
6) Matsui/Posada DH/C (Depends)
7) Matsui/Posada DH/C (Depends)
8) Swisher LF
9) Cano 2B (9th Batter usually has decent speed, and Cano is faster than Swisher)

Does Matsui play RF?

If so, move Nady to 1st, Tex to DH and Matsui to RF.

To bad that would never happen beacause Tex is a gold glover.

Nah, i doubt i think only LF. Wow if you are gonna move Tex to DH, you could also move Pudge to DH, i mean when he was playing with Yanks or Tigers.

out of Matsui, Damon, Swisher, or Nady i would trade Matsui
mabye a week team thats looking for an outfielder would accept him

the Reds could make a good team for him. they have been looking for an outfielder and need to make up some hitting for the loss of Griffey

The Nationals could look to pursue him for their loss on Teixeria

Another fit could be the San Fan Giants

Pudge is a better catcher, while Jorge is a better hitter, start Pudge at C and Jorgy at DH.

Or trade one of them and continually change the DH spot with AAA prospects give them a taste of Majors.
