Hi, I'm Bob. Yeah, just Bob. I was too tired to come up with a good nickname. I have two boys, nine and five who run me ragged.

What I don't have yet is a Wii. This game is on my buy-on-day-one list, but I need to wait until Washington sends me that big check this summer. So in the meantime, I'm hoping to learn a bit about the game here.

I'm a Padre fan, but my primary baseball interest is in old-time players, especially from the negro leagues. I really want to recreate Josh Gibson.

Hope to see you around!

Wow, I never even saw this thread or used it to introduce myself.

Anyway, I'm Alloutwar (but I'm really a nice guy). Grew up in Northeast MA, played ball in little league and then wussed out and stopped.
Lifelong Red Sox fan.

27, nerdy pale Systems Analyst, video game afficionado, into economics and investing, and recently moved to Charlotte, NC

I originally got MLB: The Bigs when I bought my Wii, but couldn't wait to get my hands on MLB PP instead. Maybe I yearned for RBI baseball fom my nintendo youth...anyway, I finally picked it up from Amazon for $25. Well spent!

I prefer creating players that are somewhat realistic and have some weaknesses - a knuckler, a speed demon with no power, a fireballer with no control, etc. Success mode lets you create some pretty Uber-characters, much better than the average major leaguer...you can find my players (and other contributions) up on the Wiki. I'm trying to create a whole 25-man team of average (or slightly below) major leaguers to do an Arrange Team with.

I also play a lot of Baseball Mogul (http://www.sportmogul.com) on the PC. It's similar to MLB PP in that you can play for seasons, do trades, sim games, etc. There's not as much play-by-play control, but it's more realistic financially and all. There's no limit on seasons, and you can start from an all-fictional universe, or start from the beginning of 1901 and play historically.

Hello everyone!

I stumbled upon this site through the link on the wikipedia entry of MLBPP. I've had Power Pros since it launched and have loved playing it. I slowed down over the winter, but picked it back up again recently. I love how it plays and it is THE game in recent memory for me that actually lived up to my own hype. :)

It is the most fun I've had since High Heat 2003. I played HH2001-2003 for the PC, which was the most fun I had playing baseball games since the SNES days. I found video game forums as a result of that those games and have been part of those same forums in different ways since. That forum, the only forum that I visit regularly, evolved into mainly an off-topic and gaming forum (http://www.theperfectgame.net). Anyone here should check it out for some entertaining discussions. I am elguapo79 over there as well, and pretty much everywhere that I hold an account. I picked that name in honor of Rich Garces who was a decent pitcher at the time that I joined the High Heat forum community.

Back on topic -- since I'm going in reverse chronological order, here are some other baseball games that I loved:

SNES: Super Baseball Simulator 1.000
NES: Base Wars
NES: Baseball Simulator 1.000
NES: RBI Baseball
NES: Baseball Stars (still the king)

Other stuff:
I'm a Red Sox fan (lifelong, not bandwagon) from Maine, 28 years old, fan of the Celtics and Bruins as well, also a big wrestling fan (prefer TNA), and ummm, that's it!

I have a Wii, 360, DS, and even a PS2 though I bought it used for FirePro and never played it.

I look forward to contributing, or, more likely, just benefiting from the presence of MLBPP enthusiasts already here!

Hey guys, .....wow, I really don't know where to start. The HOF? Sheesh.....

I thought everyone deserved an explanation for my leave. First off, being involved with the site has been awesome. It's been a lot of fun and I'm hoping someday to make it back regularly, hopefully at least in time for the next installment. Right now I'm exhausted though. Two jobs and two kids under the age of two are enough to wear me down. But the next thing I knew everyone got really sick and we had a death in the family. While MLBPP and this site are great, at times like these video games are the last thing that should be on someone's mind and I'm sure you all agree. I really didn't know how long I'd be gone and when I stopped to think about it I wasn't sure I'd be back at all. Looking back, I was pretty ragged and the situation looked more bleak to me then it probably was, which I'm assuming was the reason for the dramatic post. I apologize for that, but I thought if I was going to be gone for good I wanted to say goodbye since everyone has been so awesome. With as much activity as I was giving the game and the site, I thought it was best to go cold turkey and completely cut everything off so I wouldn't be tempted to dive back in before I should. The bottom line right now is that I'm still trying to take care of business at home but I'm not quite there. Family comes first, and if I can come back I will, but I need to make sure that I'm not stretching myself too thin.

Again, all of you have been great. I'm touched by all of the kind words, and I am truly honored to be inducted into the MLBPP HOF, but the credit goes to all of you. My MLBPP education came from the never-ending help and guidance I received from everyone here. You guys are the true hall of famers. So while its very flattering, I don't feel it's very deserving. Its alright to go ahead and put back my regular ranking.

I hope this clears things up and that everyone understands. I'd like to hopefully return to the same level of involvement someday but I'll at the very least try to visit periodically. If I unfortunately fade away from the site altogether, then at least you now have a picture of why.

hey everyone

im critical12 from california. i am an old school gamer that grew up on the sega master system, NES and SNES. my favorite baseball games from back then are little league baseball (NES), baseball stars (NES), and baseball simulator 1.000 (NES). i first started playing online matches during the XBAND days for SNES but do not participate in online play with the newer gen consoles, just netplay with NES emulators once in awhile. i'm definately hoping that mlbpp 08 will be online. i have been playing the ps2 version of mlbpp since last december and can safely say that this is probably the greatest baseball video game i have ever played up til now.

hello from england, where the closest anyone has come to play baseball is a simple game known as rounders :)

I imported mlb power pros for my american wii a few months ago, and have just started to get my head around success mode. My previous experience with baseball video games was mvp 2004, and haven't played any since, so it's been a while.

I visited New York a long time ago, and my relatives took me to a Yankees ball-game. I had no idea on what was going on, but it looked like a pretty fun game.

We get a live broadcast of a baseball game on saturday night (usually 1 in the morning) and a taped-recording on wednesdays, which is pretty good for a public tv channel.

Hey everyone, I'm tgjason, or Jason; I've been an Angels fan ever since I saw a California Angels game way back probably 13-14 years ago when Tim Salmon was a star(well, for California anyways).

I have this game for the PS2 and can't wait for the DS version to come out. I've been helping on the wiki for about a week and really like the community feel here, so I'll be sticking around for a while hopefully.

I'm calislim,

Private guy but personable (if that's possible). I've had PP for Wii since launch and it is my favorite baseball game to date. I've been playing baseball games since Major League Baseball (NES) my previous favorite. Also liked RBI Baseball, Baseball Stars, and Baseball Simulator 1000.

I'm from San Diego but I hate the Padres. After they let Joe Carter go in '91, I gave up on them. Let Joe go and he wins two rings with the Jays. Way to go Pads. My favorite team is whatever team Ken Griffey Jr. is on at the moment so for now it's the Reds. When he gets traded this season, it'll most likely be the Mariners again.

I really enjoy getting insight from everyone on the boards and I hope I can help others out as well.

MicroLeague goes a ways back. I had to get a sim so that I could play that game again. It is still a fun game to play.

Hey I'm Cownip. I usually use this for my username on almost everything. I play a little bit of baseball. Think of Bucky Dent but without that famous game winning hit against the Red Sox. In other words, I can't play for my life.

I've still got all my copies of MicroLeague and Earl Weaver on floppy. Been trying to find a way to play them again.
