I was wondering when Earl's new album was going to start getting some love. I was really excited for Kendrick's album, and his music usually grows on me over time, but I really like most of the stuff on Earl's.

I have to say, it is weird - both in the actual music and in the circumstances surrounding its release - but I have to say that I like what I'm hearing. Earl is definitely one of my favorite rappers (and he even quoted himself on "Inside" lol) but I think the surprise release (which, I believe, wasn't what Earl intended at all, but was just yet another instance of a label messing something up) didn't help matters.

Yeah, I like most of what Odd Future does, and I love the beat of Earl's music(and the rest of OF too). One of the putoffs for me from To Pimp a Butterfly was the jazzy feel I guess... idk. But yeah I really dig the bass and I guess you could call it "dark" tone of Earl's music.

Hopefully alloutwar doesn't lecture me for this.

EDIT: But I guess Earl isn't technically part of Odd Future which makes me sad.

Ooh, I loved the jazzy feel...Earl definitely has a dark tone in a lot of his songs while not making it too dark. He also gets some good collabs, like Vince Staples and even some sorta-unknown guys that, I think, did well in acting as changeups to Earl's fastballs - throwing 100% fastballs [just having Earl do every verse, every hook, every beat] is ridiculous, but having other options you can confidently go to will help the overall quality of your game [album].

Yeah, I think it's cool though... he kinda worked in an entire different genre to his album. Kendrick is really good.

I think it's really cool how there are so many different types of music to choose from and everyone has a different taste.

However, there's only like 2 people at my school who share similar music tastes and I don't really like them. Most people at my school listen to country music so I just keep my mouth shut because I hate most of it.

heh, my school has quite diverse musical tastes. Ask any kid at my school what their favorite artist/band is and they might say Drake. Or they might say One Direction. Or George Strait. Or Pierce the Veil. Or just about anything else. It's quite amazing really, and it's nice to have friends with similar musical tastes (I was actually talking to one after school today about Earl's album) but it's also nice to not be 100% concentrated in one genre.

ahaha I guess that's a problem that comes along with going to such a small school.

Country is pretty popular at my school too, but mostly because kids like going to concerts to get drunk. I hate most country and fans of country, but like any genre there's some good stuff I guess.

And my school's taste in music is quite eclectic too.

and I go to a pretty small (~320 kids in high school) school as well but like I said there's a definite mix of different tastes musically and in other aspects

I wouldn't say I hate most fans of country, cuz it's most people I know, but YES some are sooooo annoying.
