I played Bases Loaded 2 to death, I can't remember which team it was, maybe it was "T" (Texas?) and it seemed like the more games you played the better the players got, urging you to keep playing the game. I can't imagine playing a whole season in these old timey NES baseball games. I wonder if they even have ending credits/celebrations for winning the "World Series"

I also loved Little League World series, Dusty diamonds baseball, and that one where the characters looked like power pros and every time there was a close play it showed a cut scene of you sliding. What was the name?

Also baseball simulator. Too bad I learned that you could just get a hit every time with the missle hit and strike everyone out every time with the V pitch. Too easy, but if you didn't cheat like that it was pretty fun.

I liked the fact that Baseball Simulator had numerous different stadiums with different field features. Was that the first game to have that feature?

It was either backyard baseball for the mac or some game for the Dreamcast. The dreamcast game was pretty wierd cause sometimes there would be mines on the field. There were robots in it too, I think.

I'm pretty sure my first baseball game was simply titled Baseball. It was for the original Game Boy. Oddly enough, thinking back... that game was pretty similar to power pros in terms of simple gameplay and graphics (though they had legs). Not the best game, but I had fun with it.

I've never played the NES version of that game... but after reading reports on it from you guys I'm glad I didn't.

If you played the same "Baseball" for the GameBoy that I played (the one that launched with the original GameBoy back in the day with Tetris), then you probably had as much fun as I did choosing between TWO (yes, only two) teams and playing ONE (yes, only one) game before being sent back to the title screen to start the insane fun all over again! I too had fun with this game, but looking back, I'm saddened at the thought of how much I played this "demo"....

Oh my god. That's right!

You remember the randomly generated mixed and matched American/Japanese names too? Remembering that game brings a smile to my face! But really, all games back then were pretty simple. I'm not sure how old I was at the time... but I know I played it a lot. Only other game I played more than that at the time was River City Ransom for the NES.

My first baseball game was Baseball for the NES. After that I played RBI Baseball and Baseball Stars 2 (love that game). I played Ken Griffey Jr. Baseball for the SNES and around that same time I was introduced to Baseball Simulator 1.000.

When PSX came out, I was playing Triple Play Baseball and the last one I played before the current generation of systems was MVP 2004.

Bad News Baseball!

That's the one I couldn't think of.

I think there was some code you could enter to get girls instead of guys to play.

My 1st was for the Atarie 2600. Me and my brother played Hardball to death, kept our own stats with pencil and paper! There was another one for the Commador we played that was more of a sim, can't recall the name. I then went to the Amega 500 and played Earl Weaver's Baseball Sim and another sim which I can't recall the name, back in the day when Cancasco was a rookie. Didn't play another baseball game till EA MVP baseball for the PC.

Have to say, coming from an old fart with baseball, PowerPros is my favorite. The graphics are a bit cartoonish but it fits for the style. Above all things the Success Mode, Career mode coming, I have found the best in all the titles I have played and adds to the games replay value.

Even though it's not my favorite, I learned to love World Series Baseball for Sega Saturn. In college, one of my roommates had it and a bunch of us would play tournaments all the time. Every game was a tight low scoring pitchers duel. Good times.

Seconded emphatically. There has never been another sports game outside Madden 05 (by far the best of the series IMO) that I have played so much. So much to do and no matter how many run throughs of Success Mode you do, it can be different every time.
