we'd probably want OF Joc Pederson back and I don't know that we'd be able to get Lee or Seager. I'd love to try and procure a pitching prospect or two from STL (even though it would kill me to see Cliff play for them). Kolten Wong would be another guy I think they'd like.

I doubt Michael Wacha's getting traded, unless its for a guy like Matt Cain, a bonafide ace. Cliff Lee is not in my books as a bonafide ace.

In my eyes he is, I don't know. I think he's the best pitcher on the market right now and he could really be a difference-maker in the postseason for whichever team he goes to (if he's gone).

And I have a feeling unless the Cards decide to just stick with their young starters to fill out the rotation, they'd probably have to send out at least one to pick up a guy like Lee. It wouldn't be too bad a hit as they have plenty of good depth in that area.

Yeah, the cardinals pitching depth is craaaazy, and yeah, one pitcher will probably go, I think they would've went for garza had he not been in their division, josh Johnson, anybody?

Josh Johnson? lol, he's struggled this year. I'm thinking they're after either Cliff or Peavy but maybe they're best-suited to just ride this season out with Wacha/Lyons/Martinez filling in (they're a lock to be in the playoffs anyway). They probably can't get Norris considering his price tag is high and would go even higher to stay in the division.

i think a return to nl will spark his career, and im sure that he would resign with st louis, maybe the jays can't get a top prospect like rosenthal for him, but he definitely can get the jays something in return

Why are you guys speculating on the Cardinals adding a pitcher? There haven't been very serious rumors (if any at all) about the Cards making a splash. Teams such as the Red Sox and Braves are more likely, but even that's not a sure deal. The new CBA really kills a lot of the trade deadline buzz

Also, Norris isn't in the Cardinals division anymore.

We started talking about it when he referenced a more than likely incorrect rumour about lee going to the cards.
