5:48 pm Tryout Day 3

"Everyone gather up!" yelled Grey and he blew his whistle.
All the players gathered up, most were sweating and tired.
"Alright good job players, on Saturday you will all be brought in for a final interview, and on Sunday we will chose the roster. TEAM on three, ONE! TWO! THREE!"
"TEAM!"
All the players laughed and joked and went into the locker room to shower and gather there stuff.
"Oh guys, when your done come on back to the field." yelled Jim Abbot from across the diamond.

Ted and Jim converged on Grey.
"So the interview is the final test, right?"
"Not a test Ted, well not for making the team anyway. Even though I am close to there age I need a coach who can communicate with them well and has all the qualities needed to be a good captain. We need a player-coach." said Grey
"A player-coach, it would work if all the players can respect him." said Jim
"Yeah, these players aren't all stars, but they are better than average players, they were skipped by the higher teams, and the lesser teams don't have the effort or money to bring them in, we are blessed with such a good owner. These players aren't diamonds in the rough, most of them have reached their limit, the best we can give them is a bridge to the minors, and they must be willing to help each other and build it one day at a time." said Grey.
"I see, well I'm excited for this interview." said Jim
"Did you too ever settle your bet?" asked Grey changing the subject.
"Oh yeah thanks for the remainder Grey, so I think I win Jim, my hitters got over 15 hits and drew almost 10 walks." said Ted
"Yeah, but my pitchers only gave up four runs." said Jim calmly
"So I guess this bet is a tie, we will have a bunch of inter-squad games, don't worry." said Grey with a smirk.

The players in groups returned to the field in street clothes. There was much chatting among them, about previous games, and past HOFers.
"Alright guys, listen up, some of you knew what you needed to get done to make this roster today. Now go home tonight and contemplate these last 3 days. If you make this roster, this will be the last time I want any of you to dwell on the past, those who dwell never take a step ahead, they walk sideways looking for a way back, a way out. Don't doubt yourself or believe in yourself, believe in your game. If you can do this any future events will be much easier. I hope to see you all in an interview in 2 days from, now good luck, and good night." said Grey
The players grabbed their stuff and got up to leave.
"Hey, Mr Pelfry would you like to say your words, now?" asked Grey
"No Mr Grey I already did, in the locker room, I hope you don't mind." said Pelfrey
"Oh why would I mind?"
"Oh, I... never-mind." said Mr Pilfery and he left.
The players got up and left .

Grey got his stuff in his office and walked out side the building. Grey noticed a group of players outside,
"Hey waiting for rides?" he asked.
"Mr Pilfery ordered some buses, but there were too many of us so we had to wait coach." said a player.
"Alright I'll wait will you guys." said Grey. The players nodded, but looked uncomfortable.
In the crowd of players, Grey noticed Jonathan Abe with Otaku the catcher speaking in Japanese. Keaton O'Bryan and Frank Simpson in a corner, Zeke Wood was talking to Grey, and Ryan Techer and Thomas Valentine talking with everyone and being the loudest. The group enjoyed some good conversation for a while then the bus showed up and the players said their goodbyes and Grey took off towards his house.

While walking Grey, thought about the day. He thought off a the highlights, the hits, the K's the Stolen bases. Nearing his house he thought about talking with the players, and when he got inside his house his mind immediately stopped on what Mr Pilfery said "You don't mind do you?" Now Grey was very curious to find out what Pilfery was talking about, he tried to shake the thought form his head but it wouldn't budge he eventually feel asleep...



PS I am making a success Allen Grey I'm thinking B's all around for stats, Power hitter, contact hitter, rally hitter, hot hitter, Star, cannon arm, gold glover, stealing, base running, and gd infield hitter. A real 5 tool player!

Interview Day
2:30 pm

Grey stretched and gathered his stuff and entered the auditorium. Man this place has everything he thought as he set up his table, there were 5 seats, one for Grey, Ted, Jim, Mr Pilfery, and the player.
"Hey Allen, you ready for this." asked Ted
"Yeah I guess, its gonna be a long day about half an hour per interview."
Jim sighed and set up his desk.
"Ah hello MR. Grey, Mr Abbot, and Mr Ganthier." said Pilfery as he walked in.
"Just call me Jim Mr Pilfery."
"No, no I must give respect to demand it." said Bob
Jim just shrugged his shoulders.
"Alright since everyone is here let's start early." said Grey
Mr Pilfery nodded and everyone took their seats.
"Alright enter!"

Keaton O'Bryan entered, and quickly sat in the empty chair.
"Hello O'Bryan" said Grey
"Hello Coach." he responded
"So Keaton, how do you feel about this team's chemistry so far?" asked Grey
"Um... Well I think everyone gets along good, I guess. I mean there hasn't been any fights." said O'Bryan.
"AH I see, how are you liking the facility MR O"Bryan." said Bob
"... I like it ... it's nice." he said trying a smile


"Okay, okay and now for the final question. How do you feel about your performance so far in the Tryouts?" asked Grey

Decision TIME for Keaton O'Bryan
A. Great, I think I'm a shoe in for the team
B. EH, I could of done better
C. Good, I think I made the team, but I have some doubts
D. I dunno, coach thats up to YOU to find out
E. Um kinda good I guess, I think I might of made it maybe

"Alright #2 come in." called Jim
Thomas Valentine walked in and smiled at the coaches and greeted them and sat down.
"So, Thomas how do you feel about your performance this Tryout."
"Coach I think I did alright, I made some players, and contributed when I was needed to, i thought it was a nice tryout for me." said T-Val
"Alright, Alright. How do you feel about the other players, their personalities, strengths, skills?" asked Ted

Decision TIME for Thomas Valentine
A. There are holding me back they all suck
B. There are fine, some are nice, some are cruel but you get that in every bunch
C. There are great, I think we can become a great family.
D. We need a leader, someone who is confident and can gather everyone together
E. I don't really care about them as long as I can get what I want.

"Next come in!" called Jim
Zeke Woods came in and bowed, sort of and shook hands with all 4 coaches.

"So Zeke answer me this, how do you feel about your performance this tryout." said Ted
"I honestly think I could of been better, I tried hard, but I know I am better, and I can prove it."
"Good,Zeke please finish this sentence 'Practice Makes..." said Grey

Decision Time for Zeke Woods
A. Perfect, duh?
B. the player.
C. nothing, I'm too lazy to go
D. a commitment, you go to be a part of a team
E. a waste of time.

"Next." called Grey
Tobias Smith walked in and the coaches greeted him, he pounded fists instead of shaking hands
Tobias Smith: So coach what are you gonna' ask me?
Allen Grey: Well first how do you think you preformed this tryout
Smith: I think I did good, I made plays, and didn't make any type of errors
Ted Ganthier: Grant might like to have a word with you one that
Tobias Smith shook off the comment
Grey: So what do you think you can bring to the team?

Decision Time for Tobias Smith
A. POWAH!
B. Well the way I see it, if I'm not on this team you guys will suck, If I am well thats a different story

Jim Abbot: Next!
Frank Simpson quietly creeped into the room and pushed open the door. And nodded towards the coaches and the owner and sat down
Grey: Hello frank
Frank Simpson: Hi coach
Ted: So Frank in the game you went 3-4 with one double, one run, and you grounded into a DP. SO how did you feel about your performance?
Simpson: I thought I did pretty well, I felt relaxed at the plate
Grey: Good, thats good to here, the first step to hitting well is to be calm and collected.
Bob Pilfery: Mr Simpson, what would you say if I appointed you captain right now.

Decision TIME for Frank Simpson

In entered Otaku. Grey sighed and Otaku sat down. Ted tried to ask a question but they were getting nowhere.
Jim: Call in Abe
Jonathan Abe entered and greeted the coaches.
Grey: Abe can you translate

Grey: Ask him what he wants out of this experience
Abe translated

Joe Jorgensen enter and quickly sat down without a word from his mouth

Grey: Okay "Joseph" what do you think of your teammate's talent

Buddy George walked in with his arm in a sling still
Grey: Hey George how's the arm?
George: Good, it will be fine in a day or two I think
Grey: So if you don't make this team what will you do?
George: I need baseball for more than 1 reason, I'll try to find another team
Grey:I see If you made this team what do you define your role as

In walked Ryan Techer who proceeded to greet the coaches and Mr Pilfery
Grey: Hello Ryan
Ryan: Hi coach
Grey: How many innings are you willing to pitch for this team?
Ryan: what ever it takes coach, I can do any amount e it 1 or 1000, mate
Jim: Good, good, What would you said if we demoted you to relief pitcher?

Decision TIME for Ryan Techer
A. Demoted? I wouldn't be happy, but were talking hypothetical right?
B. Demoted? No way I'd actually like that better, mate
C. Demoted? I wouldn't be happy, but no way would I consider it a demotion, mate.
D. Demoted? Seriously your gonna demote me?

Bob Randomguy walks in and smiles at the coaches and almost misses the chair as he sits down.
Jim: So Bob how do define your role on this team.
RG: I think i can be an excellent closer
Grey: We have 2 potential closers, you and Abe, what would you do if Abe won the closer's position?

Decision time for Bob Randomguy
A. Ha, are you kidding me, your think about selecting Abe? That's real funny coach
B. I'm fine with being the bridge to him
C. I rather be a closer, but I can be a set-up man
D. I actually want to be a stater.
E. Okay, fine, I rather be a fielder anyway

Clarence Fair walked in confidently.
Jim: So Fair what do you think your role is on this team?
Fair: Either the 1st or 2nd starter
Grey: What do you think is the most important attribute for a pitcher?

In entered Jonathan Abe who smiled to the coaches and fist pumped Coach Grey.
Grey: So Abe, do you think you made this team?
Abe: Honestly I do, but I wouldn't say I'm the best one here by far, that Techer guy is great and so is Randomguy
Jim: Oh, so if RG got the closer job instead of you, you wouldn't care?

Brian Murphy walked in.
Jim: Your a fresh recruit do you think being new affects your chances.
