“Tony! Get your butt down here this instant!” He awakes with a jolt at his mother’s shrill scream, “Shit!” he says, looking at the clock and seeing 30 minutes had passed. As luck would have it, he had set out his clothes the night before, a hoodie and some brown pants, “nothing fancy today.” he said throwing them on as fast as possible.

When he got downstairs, two pieces of toast were waiting for him. “Thanks, ma!” he yelled, running out the door to his bus stop.

“Wait! Wait!” the bus driver opened up the doors. “Don’t make this a habit, Bledsoe.” she said. “I’m sorry, miss. Thank you.”
“Come on in.”

Where do I sit…? the boy wondered. There was but one seat open. But… She’s a senior…
“Bledsoe!” yelled a voice from behind him

The Lost

“Oh… Randy…” the yellowing picture gaining another water stain. “I can’t… No more. Why didn’t we ever have children? Why didn’t we ever go to… Where was it again…?”

She creaked up. Standing at only five feet and an inch on a good day, her hunched back was doing her no favors. “Where did I put that paper…?” she questioned aloud to an empty home. The dust and cobwebs overtook the once vibrant furniture.

She was alone in both home and mind. The deterioration had begun many moons before, but she was unaware.

“I know I put it somewhere…” The paper she was looking for held nothing but a name and a location, Costa Rica.
