I managed to go through every single cookie last night. All those delicious chocolate chip cookies. It was so worth it. I bet it won’t affect my play much but they were still yummy.

I got the day off on Monday, and the team ended up winning 4-2.

On Tuesday I was back in the sixth spot in the lineup against the Braves. Their pitcher had was 0-2 with a 6.00 ERA, so I was feeling pretty good about today. In my first at-bat I managed to yank a grounder down the third base line for a single. I got another single in the bottom of the fourth too, with a line drive single to center field. In the bottom of the sixth I laced a ball into the left-center gap for an RBI double to extend our lead to 2-0. They managed to tie it up, and I got up in the bottom of the ninth but popped out to second base. We ended up losing the game 3-2 in 10 innings, but there must have been something in those cookies, as I went 3-4 with a double and an RBI.

On Wednesday I was moved up to the clean-up spot in the lineup again. In the top of the first I managed to get an RBI infield single with runners on the corners. Then, in the bottom of the seventh, we were down 3-1 with runners on second and third and I stepped up to the plate and cranked a two-RBI single up the middle to tie up the game. We ended up winning 5-3, and I went 2-4 with 3 RBI and two K’s.

I got a call after the game from my mom. She said that her and my father were driving up for tomorrow’s game. They had been eager to see me play, and she said that she’s happy to have the chance. Let’s hope I can impress them…

I was moved down to the seven spot for the game. We were playing the Braves again, the fifth and final game of the series. In my first at-bat I struck out swinging. In my next at-bat I got a good pitch to hit, but ended up flying out to right field. However, in my next at-bat, I hit a grounder up the middle for my first hit of the ballgame. Unfortunately, that would be the only hit I would get in the game, as I ended up going 1-4 with 2 K’s. We ended up getting the 4-2 win though. I met up with my parents after the game. My dad patted me on the back and said “Better luck next time.” I don’t think they understand that even getting one hit is pretty good. They’re pretty uneducated on the baseball front.

On Friday, we started another 5-game series against the 7-8 Huntsville Stars. I was put back in the clean-up spot. I got a single in the top of the fourth, but we were already down 5-0 unfortunately. The rest of the game was pretty uneventful, as I ended up going 1-4 with a strikeout in a 9-3 loss.

I sat out on Saturday, and we ended up winning 11-6.

On Sunday, I was in the seven spot again. In the top of the fourth, I got an RBI single on a line drive to left field, to narrow the Stars’ lead to 3-1. In the top of the ninth, the score was 5-4 Stars’ with 2 outs and a runner on second. I got the groundball base hit through the gap between second and first, but the baserunner made a stupid decision and tried for home, and was out by a mile. I still got the base hit though, but we ended up losing 5-4, and I went 2-5 with an RBI and a strike out.

My mom called and said that she would try to go to at least one game per month. I guess that’s good, hopefully that’s an excuse for more cookies.

This week’s stats: 9-21 (.429 AVG), 0 HR, 5 RBI, 6 K, 0 BB

Season stats: 18-56, .321, 0 HR, 10 RBI, 1 2B, 2 BB, 19 K

On Sunday, when I got home from the game, I found a package on my front steps with cookies inside of it and a note that said “With love, Mom and Dad.” They were snickerdoodles, and they were good.

On Monday, I was in the cleanup spot for the fourth game in the series against the Stars. I had a bad game, going 0-4 with a strikeout, and the team lost 3-2.

On Tuesday, I was brought down to the sixth spot in the lineup. We had already lost the series, so I was just going to fight for a win. I didn’t get any hits in the game, but I drew a walk in the eighth inning. We ended up losing 4-1 though.

I sat out on Wednesday, as we started another 5 game series against the Tennessee Smokies. We ended up getting a 13-5 win.

On Thursday I was put up to the cleanup spot against the 6-15 Smokies. I did pretty average, as I went 1-5 with a strikeout in a 9-4 loss.

On Friday I was moved down to the seven spot again. I did horribly, going 0-4 with 2 K’s in a 8-5 win.

I was brought back up to the cleanup spot for some reason on Saturday. I had another horrible game, going 0-4 with a strikeout in a 7-4 loss.

I sat out on Sunday, as we lost 8-4.

I had a really, really bad week. Hopefully my mom will come through with some damn good cookies so I can snap out of this cold spell.
