RISE OF THE KILLER B'S: Banuelos Pitches 1-Run Game In MLB Debut

NEW YORK--Rookie Manny Banuelos, head of the three pitching prospects dubbed the "Killer B's," pitched the first game of his Major League career today, and impressed everyone in attendance, attaining perfection through 5 innings and giving up just one run on four hits and two walks, leading the Yankees to a 6-1 victory over the O's. Banuelos struck out nine batters in the complete game victory. Three solo home runs were hit in the game, the first by Curtis Granderson in the opening frame, the second by Jorge Posada in the sixth, and the finale by Alex Rodriguez in the following inning. Derek Jeter would steal third in the seventh inning, and would score on a Granderson sac fly.

I've added a poll to the log. Based on your outside knowledge and his start against the O's, tell me if Manny Banuelos is the saving grace for the rotation.

Maybe he can be like Vance Worley or he could be like Kyle Kendrick very inconsistent. Only time will tell.

The Yanks should hope he'll be like Vance (but I don't really hope for it - I dislike the Yanks ) and NOT Kyle Kendrick

You are AWFUL, not liking the Yankees. Who can hate the Bronx Bombers? The Pinstripers? The Evil Empi--okay, maybe you have a point.

I decided to sim past the Rangers series to get right to Banuelos' next start (EDIT: I simmed more because I'm lazy ). The previous post will be updated to reflect this.

BREAKING NEWS: RIVERA AND POSADA TRADED, MONTERO CALLED UP TO SHOW

NEW YORK--In a shocking transaction, the New York Yankees have traded veterans CP Mariano Rivera and DH Jorge Posada to the Philadelphia Phillies for SP Cole Hamels and LF Raul Ibanez. The Yankees have sent SP Manny Banuelos and RF Greg Golson down to AAA, and have called up Cs Jesus Montero and Francisco Cervelli.

A-ROD STREET: Alex Hits Two To Eutaw, Leads Yanks To Win

BALTIMORE--Alex Rodriguez hit two moonshots to Eutaw Street and CC Sabathia pitched a 1-runner in the Yankees' 8-1 victory at Baltimore. Rodriguez now has 7 home runs on the year, and CC's record is 3-0 with a 2.18 ERA and 30 K's. Justin Duchscherer took the loss, dropping his record to 3-2.

The Yankees are 17-10 to start the season, first place in the AL East and 2 games ahead of the second-place Red Sox. By far the biggest news story, however, saw Mariano Rivera and Jorge Posada get traded to the Phillies, Cole Hamels and Raul Ibanez joining the team, and Jesus Montero becoming the team's full-time DH.

Next, I recommend calling a press conference publicly putting Derek Jeter to shame, then releasing A-Rod to waivers.

Jeets and A-Rod still have a few great seasons, whereas Posada and Mo are better off on a team that's looking for one big push.

Posada is best off retired. Just sayin'.
