As I make this post, the NY Mets and the St. Louis Cardinals are going to 20 innings.

Ugh! Mets finally won! It took them long enough! 20 innings! At least now the Cardinals will be all tired, that'll help us.

When was the last time there was a no hitter 12 games into the season?

Well the earliest no-no was Hideo Nomo for the Montreal Expos back in 2002(?).

And the Cubs dropped a series to the Astros. At home. I am suddenly less optimistic now.

Well, I have told myslef the Cubs aren't good this year and set my expectations low. Its going to be a rollar coaster of W's and L's

oh yeah, how about the Red Sox losing 4 straight games and a bad offense and Lester and Beckett off to more bad starts and a bad bullpen and Papelbon is crap

Oh well I'm always optimistic. I get to go to 7 Red Sox games this year too I hope they're better than when they lost to the Mets, Rays and White Sox to the only games I went to

I was watching that 20 inning Mets game from the seventh inning all the way until the end. In my opinion it was the best game I have EVER seen.

Nomo never played for the Expos. However, he did it for the Red Sox in 2001 against the O's.

Yeah it must have been on the 1st or 2nd game of the season because it was also Don Orsillo's broadcasting debut

But anyways the Red Sox broke their losing streak with a 6-run comeback(I think it was 6) and out of everyone Darnell McDonald comes up clutch with a tying pinch hit homer on the 8th and a walkoff wallball single in the 9th

Another interesting thing is the way teams steal off of the Red Sox. The Rangers stole 9 bases against Wakefield yesterday and they steal like crazy against us. Opponents are like 31/32 against us stealing this season

I'm going to the Sox game tonight so I hope they can continue this somehow. It's tough with out Ellsbury and Cameron though

Carlos Zambrano has been demoted to a bullpen role and its the 8th inning set up (not even the closer). What a waste of 17 million a year for a reliever in the 8th inning, thats more than Rivera gets paid.

I'm glad they did that. Big Z turned into Big L.
And Silva and Gorzelanny both pitched better that Carlos, they deserve it more than him

I think Zambrano needs to take back on his promise to control his emotions. He needs to get fired up or else he sucks. Well, if the bullpen worked for Marshall, it could work for Zambrano... right?
