AL East:
1. Yankees
2. Red Sox - Wild Card
3. Rays
4. Orioles
5. Blue Jays

Not much to say about the AL East. The Yankees clearly are the best team, and the Red Sox will take the Wild Card just a few games back.

AL Central:
1. White Sox
2. Indians
3. Twins
4. Tigers
5. Royals

For the AL Central, I think the White Sox can win that division. Buehrle and Peavy leading the pitching, and offense led by Konerko, Quientin, and Andruw Jones with enough left in him for at least one more pretty good season. I think the Indians can surprise everyone this year with Carmona leading the pitching staff and Sizemore leading the offense. I think the Twins will struggle in their new stadium and come in third.

AL West:
1. Mariners
2. Rangers
3. Angels
4. Athletics

I think the Mariners are going to win the division with dominant pitching by Lee and King Felix. I don't think the Mariners will hit a lot of home runs, but will get plenty of base hits and RBI from Ichiro, Figgins, and Wilson. I think the Rangers will jot into second close behind, and the Angels will drop down to third.

NL East:
1. Phillies
2. Marlins - Wild Card
3. Mets
4. Braves
5. Nationals

Even though I put Marlins, Mets, and Braves 2, 3, and 4, I'm predicting a TIGHT race between the three teams ending in the Marlins barely taking second. The Phillies will easily take the division, and the Nats as usual with the worst record in the majors.

NL Central:
1. Cardinals
2. Cubs
3. Reds
4. Brewers
5. Astros
6. Pirates

I unfortunately have to predict the Cardinals winning the central again. The Cubs will put in a good fight, but in the end, won't stand a chance against the offense provided by Pujols and Holliday. I can always have hope though! :D

NL West:
1. Dodgers
2. Giants
3. Rockies
4. Padres
5. Diamondbacks

I think the NL West will be a tight race between the Dodgers, Giants, and Rockies, but the Dodgers will just barely edge out the other two and sneak by with the division title.

ALDS:
Yankees over Mariners
Red Sox over White Sox

ALCS:
Yankees over Red Sox

NLDS:
Cardinals over Marlins
Phillies over Dodgers

NLCS:
Cardinals over Phillies

World Series:
Yankees over Cardinals

MVP:
AL: Evan Longoria
NL: Albert Pujols

Rookie of the Year:
AL: --
NL: Jason Heyward

Cy Young:
AL: Felix Hernandez
NL: Roy Halladay

Manager of the Year:
AL: Ron Washington
NL: Bobby Cox

Still not fixed, the Yankees can't get knocked out and then come back in.

And when I did the MVP, I combined my prediction on who will have a good year with who I think deserves it. In no way do I think those guys will win it. Gonzalez SHOULD win it because I think he will come in during a pennant chase and be an absolute beast pushing the Red Sox way over the Yankees. That is a valuble player, single handedly pushing his team into the playoffs. Chris Young I think will have a monster year and be a very valuble player to the Dbacks. In my opipion, for the 3 months CC Sabathia was with the Brewers, I believe he should have won the MVP award because he was so valuable, he single handedly put the Brewers in to the playoffs. As ChiCubsFan has predicted, the Rays will come in third place but Evan Longoria will win the MVP. If he was so valuable then the Rays would have made the playoffs, or at least come very close. When the MVP comes from a last place team, that makes me so mad.

His original post is fixed, that quote isn't.

BBB, are you really underestimating the AL so much that half a season of Gonzalez will be able to beat out anyone for MVP? Red Sox are already a VERY good team without Gonzalez so theres no real point of Gonzalez "carrying" them into the playoffs like Manny and CC did for the Dodgers and Brewers respectively. I believe that half a season is never enough for a MVP. My prediction is Miguel Cabrera as he is already a really good player. He is capable of .320/40/120 season and that will beat out whatever Gonzalez is able to produce in a year, so its only fair that Cabrera gets it. My point is that the Red Sox will be in contention so there won't be votes for Gonzalez single handedly carrying a team with a potent offense and a 3 headed pitching rotation.

I half agree with you. Miguel Cabrera was my other choice for MVP and he came very close but in my opinion if a team is fighting hard to make the playoffs and they are having a rough time, when a new player comes in and the team turns it around it is hard to to attribute it to that player. I believe Gonzalez will push the Red Sox from contending and fighting hard with the Yankees into a team that is easily in the playoffs.

And dish, just like jacobye said, the Cubs and Cardinals can't play each other in the NLDS.

Now Time for failing at personal player predictions!

AL:

Cy Young: Cliff Lee
ROY: Dustin Ackley
MVP: Ian Kinsler
Comeback Player: Justin Duchsherer

NL:

Cy Young: Tommy Hanson, with Linececum in a VERY close 2nd
ROY: Jason Heyward
MVP: Pablo Sandoval
Comeback Player: Tie between Chipper Jones and Freddy Sanchez

As you can see, I tried to use some off the wall players in my picks, with the exception of Heyward and Linececum. All these players will be difference makers if there teams make a run for the playoffs or not. Espically any players on this list that are on any teams in the playoffs if my previous post. I am up to debate. However, if you say
Quote:
Why didn't you pick Pujos :P

Or
Quote:
Come On! AL Cy Young will be King Felix!

Then I will ignore you. I want players that aren't obvious shoe-ins for hte award in your arguement.

None of you guys seem to give any credit for the Minnesota Twins; you all pick the White Sox to win the AL Central. Certainly, the White Sox have a very good rotation, but their offense is almost as bad as the Giants'. They've lost almost all of their power sources: Paul Konerko is too old, Jermaine Dye is a free agent, and who did Jim Thome go but... the Twins.
The Twins have Joe Mauer, Justin Morneau, Jason Kubel, and Michael Cuddyer in the middle of their lineup. Every one of them had at least 94 RBI last season. They have Jim Thome as a pinch hitter/DH. They replaced the trio of Nick Punto, Brendan Harris, and Alexi Casilla with J.J. Hardy and Orlando Hudson, both former all-stars. This team has an average or above average player at every position, except maybe third base.
I agree that the White Sox have better pitching; they have a strong rotation and at least 3 good relievers. However, the Twins' pitchers can be easily underrated. I think that the Twins' pitching (and defense) is better than the White Sox' offense, and the Twins' offense is better than the White Sox' pitching and defense.

My predictions for the AL Central: (I might do the other divisions later)
Twins
White Sox
Tigers
Indians
Royals

1. The Cubs can't face the Cards in the DS. They're in the same division
2. What "huge midseason trade" are you predicting?
