Right now I am making my Mets offseason plan draft and then I will post it to my blog on SBNation's AmazinAvenue.com. I suggest everyone keeps a blog for the offseason, it is fun and if you get a lot of readers (which you will if you write on SBNation, every team has an SBNation blog) then you get to see what everyone else thinks of your ideas. Last year I had a blog for MLBlogs.com but I never really got that many readers and it got boring. I suggest SBNation however, that is a great website.

Well free agent signings begin tommorow!
Today Aaron Heilman was traded from the Cubs to the Diamondbacks for two minor leaguers

not because of this trade, but after watch mlbnetwork talk about the D-Backs I think they have a division chance next year


A healthy Webb, a returned Chris Young, a closer and more production from guys like Jackson(who was gone for like 100 games) and Drew could change this team

Webb and Haren is a nasty 1-2 while Scherzer has a lot of potential and a good
4th starter in Doug Davis(as far as 4th starters go) but if he leaves then they'll probably go after a Jon Garland or Randy Wolf

They'll need a better bullpen too though. Get someone like Lyon or Betancourt and resign Qualls. It's good to see that young relievers were able to get their ERA's in the low 4.00's but some proven guys would help a ton

and they desperatly need a second basemen. Placido Polanco is absolutely perfect for them. A contact hitter who doesn't strike out much could maybe help a team that struck out alot and help out a defense that had over 120 errors

But it all they have the pieces. Reynolds, Upton, Drew, Webb, Haren, Jackson, Montero..

They have a good amount of good players and potential superstars

Get all those crappy relievers out of here. Milton Bradley is next, please

I think what the cubs need most is consistency. Some consistent reliever and a solid batter to make up for having to deal with bradley. I like Marco Scutaro, but we probably don't have enough money to get him. I would also look into trading with Alfonso Soriano.

Mets get Chris Snyder
D-Backs get Luis Castillo

I think it's a good trade for both ends.

Wonder what longball thinks, he loves chris snyder for some reason and now he's playing for the archrival!

i think the mets robbed the d-backs though, castillo's way over the hill, and they needed a catcher.

What are the details of the trade? I have been able to to find speculation - but no info.

I know not much about this but I love this trade

The Mets get a huge upgrade over Beian Schneider but I guess they'll try to get Hudson

But I love this for the D-Backs. They let Montero get the evryday spot where he hit 16 homeruns and hit in the .290's. And they get that 2nd basemen they need who gives them speed, less strikeouts and good enough defense.

I'm still on that D-Backs train, i think they can be good when everyone puts it together
