Maybe instead of trading in '07, I could trade in my 2K8 game, since I rarely play it anymore.

Don't trade in Power Pros since Success Mode is still awesome.

that's what i was thinking. I still go back and play 07 sometimes, and will probabably do the same for 08 with 09.

I play '07 way more than '08 because success is so awesome.

What I meant in my previous post is that I might sell back my MLB 2K8 game from 2K Sports, not Power Pros.

That would be better since that game doesn't have a feature that is different each year like success.

Yeah. Those other companies (i.e. EA Sports) make games that are basically the same game. Madden 08 was such a low blow to the players (including me  ) because NFL Superstar Mode, one of the best features in the game, WAS the same thing. In the game, you would get an email from the team you got drafted by. The Steelers one would say:
We went 10-6 last year and drafted you because _________________.

Then, the next year when the went 8-8:
We went 10-6 last year and drafted you because _________________.

Success Mode is different every year, entirely, but it still finds ways to dish out AWESOME products. Thanks 2K and Konami! If they did that with their bigger market games (MLB 2K_) they would make much more profit, even in this bad economy. My only question; why not?

Sucess mode is like RPG. Other games like MLB the show, 2K_ are those super realistic games and do not have the ability to come up with something like that. Their "Life Mode" is better, but sucess mode is what makes Power Pros unique, if not it would just be another baseball game with cartoon figures.

But it doesn't have the power-ups that other cartoon games have so it would have been discontinued pretty quickly.

"Super realistic games" just end up having so many glitches. I personally don't care about how realistic-looking the players are. I prefer Wii Sports to Tiger Woods PGA Tour, MLB 2K9, or Fight Night any day. Madden is supposed to be realistic. Is this realistic? MLB Power Pros has some of those, but nothing like this. The closest is the fielding, which isn't too bad.

Considering there are 5 minor teams you are on I'm suspecting you start in Rookie level move up to Short Season A(or Low class A) High Single A, Double A, and finally, Triple A to the majors. Do you know if it's going to be a 5 year set or maybe just 3?

Going by experience, 5 teams only means you get to play 3 years on any one team in the fictional minor league system. You won't be hopping teams, but you'll be playing against the other 4 teams. Each team will likely have different gimmicks, events and players. For example the ORIG pitch event may only be available for a certain team. I think you might need to play through the standard Strawberries Success Mode at least once to unlock the others.

But if you're a top prospect why spend 3 years in AAA?

Yeah, I just saw the vid and Dice-K's downward pitch is a CHG. Odd they'd give him a 6 on that through. His slider is clearly a better pitch in real life and the CHG hardly gets hitters out. Maybe since it's no longer a HSLD they made it one Lv shorter.
