I'll start. As GM of the Yankees I would, trade away Cano and a few other prospect for the defense of Hudson.

Is this a joke or real (about Cano haha, it seems no less out there then their suggestions. Actually, A-Rod has with the excpetion of 08 and 06 easily been the best player on the team. He won two MVPs, both of the other years, so of course he was then. Mussina was the best last year. Oh and Jeter should have won MVP instead of Mourneu also, compare their stats. I think he lost because voters in the east were torn over Ortiz and Jeter and they split the votes there where the people in the central vote Moruneu much more often. Also they thought the Yanks were so good they didn't need Jeter to make the play-offs).

If I were GM of the Rays: Trade for a big name player to bring in some more fans. Their fanbase is really going to struggle with the economy.

As the GM of the Red Sox, I'd take steps to secure a trade for Prince Fielder, hopefully giving up Ortiz, Lars Anderson, and Mike Lowell along the way. Fielder's defense is decent but his offense is incredible, equally comparible to Ortiz, plus he's younger. I'd immediatly move Youkilis over to third, then place Lugo on waivers. Jed Lowrie will become my starting shortstop and I'll call Junichi Tazawa up from AA to be a sixth starter/long reliever.

Padres cut $20 mil off their payroll (down to 43.6 mil)
even the yanks and the BoSox cut costs, though the Yanks still have 201 mil.
Only the Cubbies and the Phils raised payrolls by over $3 mil.
Also, Player salaries went up 4%.
