a bummer for Alou fans, that was possibly his final game ever. Netherlands stepped it up for shore ! Netherlands vs Venezuela next. i wonder if the Venezuelan's will bring the same intensity as they had in the match against the mighty U.S.

That game didn't matter, I don't think either teams put in their best players. A better comparison is how they played versus panama and the netherlands. I don't know who to root for. Venezuela has Bobby Abreu, my favorite non Yankee and one of my top 3-4 favorite players in general. U.S. has Jeter, also one of my top 3-4, their my country, but they also have Youkilis, Oswalt, and Pedroia, none of which I like (well Youkilis is a good guy and all, I would like him if he wasn't a red sock).

I absolutely hate Derek Jeter. He's the incarnation of what the NY Yankees are about. That said, I think USA didn't play hard but Venezuela did. So, it'll be interesting to see if the Netherlands' pitching can hold back Venezuela's apparently woken up offense.

As for Mexico vs. Korea, if Mexico's pitching shows up, it'll be a very good game. Else, expect a blowout like the 17-7 against the aussies.

Eh I have respect for Jeter, he hasn't done much wrong
But I want to know why he was batting 3rd in front of Wright, Dunn, and Braun in the baseball classic game, he's not a crummy hitter but not a number 3 for that kind of lineup

Because he's Derkek Jeter, and he's a better number 3 then Wright. He's also much better then Braun, and imeasurably better then Dunn. Wright was the number 4 hitter, where he belonged. Number 1-3 hitters need high average, something Dunn certianly doesn't have, as well as clutch hitting, some speed, and a high on base percentage, all Jeter has loads of (well not speed, but he's pretty fast).

Let me get this str8 you hate derek jeter, an all-star who has done the right thing *what we know* most of his life, If you rip A-rod fine, but jeter. Of course the US didn't play hard, they didn't need to, that second game was stupid anyway. You don't need a extra game to determine seeding the US was 2-0, ven was 2-1, meaning America had .1000 win pct to Vens .500 win pct. The US knew the game was pointless; america proved their point that they can beat Ven, they almost got the mercy rule.

I like korea versus mexico; I think korea has the edge.
Cuba and japan is going to be good; I think the defensive edge is in japan. This will be close; I think the champs will beat them. I'm rooting for Cu-ba tho for personal reasons.
