You just might have to see for yourself.
you'll have to make it a respectably length though.

Just try and stay with it. I also write from time-to-time and have two novels unfinished. My 1st attempt was around 30 or so pages, 3 chapters done, 6 more planed called A Fallen Angel. My last, still on going, The No Name Boy is up to 50+ pages and just am starting to hit the half way point with the rest planned out.

No one can ever tell you how to write a novel, there is nothing to study or guidlines to follow. Find a routine and try and stick with that; Angel I wrote one page a day, No Name I wrote longhand and typed it out when a had a few pages done.

Things that derailed me were basically Life. Angel slowed down then stopped when kids came into the picture, still have everything in a box for later work, and No Name due to bad printer and horid computer with no money to fix either one. Every story I have done has had a diffrent routine and only work for that one story and none other.

Even when you stop always keep everything. I have ideas for stories that I wrote down that are about 10yrs old still in a box. If I don't ever get to them then maybe my son or daughter will and they will have a pandoras box to begin with.

Also don't limit youself to one genre. I always read fanasty yet my stories always reflect real life; Angle about child abuse, No Name about growing up on the streets and reglion. Never thought I would write anything like those yet they are the best stories I have ever came up with and think about mostly.

Maybe when I am old and retired with nothing to do, I will open my box and recall all those ideas and finally sit down with pen and paper and FINALLY finish a novel for friends and family and the statisfaction of knowing that I have finally did it.

Ok, Next bit 'comin up! The sections will be slimming down soon, i posted huge chunks before, so now i'm going to do 1-2 paragraphs each bit.
HERE IT IS
If anyone has any predictions, feel free to post 'em!

In front of the prisoner was nothing, but a seemingly
endless expanse of sand, with the occasional plant showing
up. He was out of breath by the time he stopped running. He
took in deep breaths of the dry desert air."Oh sweet lord......." He said to himself, as he took a deep, raspy breath. He knew, that if he wanted to survive he'd need to take risks, and push himself to the limit each and everyday.
" Ridiculous! Impossible! A prisoner escaping from my prison!" The general pounded hard on his metal desk, leaving a large dent in the solid structure."Someone must has helped this man! The question is who... Soldier " He said, pointing at the man who let the prisoner escape " Do you know anything about this menacing man who escaped "
