Ummm, didn't he suck the next year and get traded? Then dominated in the NL. The Royals have signed Horacio Ramirez and some other players. We never said they would the playoffs, just be over .500.

Ah, yes, I forogt about that. He didn't get traded because he sucked, the Indians just knew they couldn't resign him and weren't going to contend that year. They got some prospects in return and the Brewers got a taste of October. I don't think the NL is that much worse any more. CC is still a good player.
I didn't know that about the Royals, I'll have to look into it.
By the way, I was really confused because I thought I posted my post on the Royals in a different thread and I thought it was all in my head because I couldn't find it anywhere haha.

If they traded him beacause they wanted prospects, then they would have waited closer to the deadline where you can get more players. They traded him beacause he was doing horrible, absolutely horrible.

Trust me, that's not at all true, a low 4 ERA isn't horrible by any means, its just bad for CC. And yes, they traded him about a week from the deadline. Look it up on Google.

I believe it was google? The closer you get to the deadline, the better deals you get.

What does a Yankee fan know? What does a Rays fan know? go to Cleveland to see C.C last game and stay there for a week and listen to their sports news and then you'll know the true reason.

Cownip "Burnett won't be the next Carl Pavano. He doesn't get injured as much..."

Last year was the ONLY year he didn't spend any time on the injury list and he's been playing for ten years. Last year was only the 2cd time he ever threw over 200 innings in a season. Good luck with him, he didn't do sqat for us untill his contract year.

I never said he doesn't get injured a lot, and I wish they gave him four years or nothing. What I said is that he doesn't get injured as much as Pavano. Pavano was injured for most of the seaosn every single year. Oh, and Burnett has had 3 years with no DL. I agree, it's too risky. Good think we now have pitching depth.

^ exactly this is why we should do good but really something i was thinking about throughout the year, yes are pitching was not top notch but are hitting was even worse. I mean look at Rasners starts on many starts he limited the offense to less then two runs (atleast 5-6 starts he did that) yet he didnt win because of Yankees not scoring. Same with Mussina he limited people to 1 or 2 runs but still got a no decision i feel we really need to amp up are offense with a big bat.

Last year was an off year for the offense, it didn't play anywhere near to what its capable of. I expect it to be much better this year, I think it was a fluke.

Or maybe it's the end of the Yankees reign? Well actually it's already over but.

Maybe the Yankees will no longer compete (hard to believe with what they have but...) it happens to everyone atleast once.

And it has a few times to the Yankees. But not right now, not with the team they have. In 5 years, maybe, but not any time soon. It all depends on how their prospects do when Damon, Matsui, and Jorge's careers are finished. I mean you got CC, Cano, and A-Rod for a long time and Jeter for about 5 more years, but other then that nothing is set in stone (except that bullpen of course). The Yankees have one fantastic guy coming who I think is only 16 or something and was batting 300 in Charleston. He was a catcher, but he won't be up for a while. They have a pretty good catcher prospect also who will be ready in about a year. Then they got a great first-base prospect and three of the biggest prospects of any team coming up in the outfield.

The Sad part is, that's really all they. They have those few great prospects, but..... Not much else. They need some work on the farms. I think they have the 29th worst or something. Either way it was pretty bad.
