CURSE YOU STEINBRENNER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still think that the Giants are going to get someone huge.
Rays might be going after Jason Giambi or Bobby Abreu.

I assume this is now the winter trade thread?

Looks like the Mets also got JJ Putz as part of a huge 12 player deal. I'm sure most of you would have heard about the details before reading this so I won't spare them, what does everybody think of this? It looks like the Mets have a pretty nice 8th and 9th inning going for them now.

With Sabathia out of the selection, and Pedro Martinez 'unsure' of resigning in January, Mets is going to have a hard time finding a decent starters

O boy, off-topic but.... They sign a 161mil deal for CC and they offer AJ Burnett an 80mil deal. That is not good not smart one bit. Plus the money for the stadium, this is all going to come back and hurt them if they don't do well, and even if they do do well.

Okay, since we're on the topic of the Yanks paying too high...
A-Rod asked for a salary of $30,000,000. That's 75 TIMES THE AMOUNT OF MONEY GEORGE W. BUSH MAKES IN A YEAR!
sorry for getting off-topic...sort-of.

The stadium was destroyed for more money. Yankee Stadium was destroyed so more people would be urged to come since it is a great stadium full of history, so they would make more money. Now, people will want to have gone to the new Yankee Stadium in its first season. That's WHY they destroyed Yankee Stadium. I can't think of any reason they'd do so, with all their players only worrying about the digits in their salary. Here's my favorite example, in song! Been Caught Stealing by Ryan Parker

Manny Ramirez is growing extremely upset about the lack of suitors for his services, so much so that he has told friends he would contemplate retirement if a suitable offer doesn't arrive soon.

I was a Manny fan back when he played for us but sometimes he would really get on my nerves, and it's doubtful I was the only one. He did a lot for us but there was always the huge glaring problem with his work rate and attitude, if someone feels the home runs he hits on his good days are worth it then more power to them but I think Rotoworld were spot on with their response.

We needed a good laugh at the end of a busy week. We're sure Manny will be receiving a lot of sympathy. To think there aren't dozens of teams willing to pay him $25 million for a one-dimensional 36-year-old known for giving it all only when he feels like it.

BTW, CC Sabathia agrees to a 7 year $160 million deal with yankees, dunno if he signed it yet, but horray!
Where does yankee's get all this money from?

I know the Brewers don't have it  hopefully the Brew's fans go back from being insufferably arrogant/delusional to simply being annoyingly nostalgic.

Free agent righty AJ Burnett has agreed in principle to a 5 year 82 million dollar deal. He joins recently acquired lefty CC Sabathia, multiple 19 game winner Chien Ming Wang and Joba Chamberlain in the Yankees rotation. The Yankees are still not done hoping to resign Andy Pettitte or free agent Ben Sheets.

I think the Yankees are using some fort of infinite money cheat. Doesn't bother me though, he seems a little overpriced considering he'll only get injured right away  .

Then Steinbrenner (Goldman) will fire him for getting an injury and not being able to play for a period of time.

Its a shame that Wagner had to have Tommy John but if Wagner hadn't gotten injured i think they would've gone hard after Jose Valverde.
