Oswalt has a great curve and a slowish curve as well.

Just IMO of course but names that come to mind when I think of certain pitches:

4-seam fastball - Zumaya, Papelbon, Oswalt
2-seam fastball - Maddux
Cutter - Rivera
Sinker - Lowe, Webb
Splitter - Harden?
Horizontal Slider - Matsuzaka, Rodriguez
Vertical slider - Lidge
Curve - Halladay
Drop curve - Zito
Power curve - Burnett, Hernandez
Knuckle curve - Mussia
Change - Santana, Hamels
Knuckleball - Wakefield

- I'm probably playing a bit loose with the curve and slider differences but to my eye I like them in those categories. I think an argument could be made for Beckett in the power curve category but I also think he's too inconsistent with the pitch. When it's on it's really great but he's off too much.

- I feel like after having a few top fastball-splitter pitchers in Clemens and Schilling we've kind of hit a dry spell so far as prominent ones go. I guess Harden is known for having a very good one but I couldn't think of anyone else.

- Lidge's slider is just phenomenal. It really comes in like nobody else's and with such sharp and big movement downward right at the end. Totally nasty. Daisuke's is kind of ridiculous too in that it really sweeps a ton when he has it working best. It's got that "nobody really throws one that's comparable" thing going on. I'd throw Rodriguez's in the "that's just nasty!" category.

I might add Lincecum to the changeup catagory as well. he destroyed batters with that pitch working off his fastball this year.
