Once again, I'm doing okay on the social aspect of school and I'm scraping by on the academic side. It's just tough when the most difficult subjects for me are also by far the least interesting.

I've got a 100% going so far in APUSH. The class sucks tho. Spanish 2 sucks goat beards.

I concur. Learning Spanish sucks.

Basically every class sucks except precal (holding a solid 95.9% right now), which I expected to do poorly in. Spanish is fine too, but it's spanish. Physics sucks because everything's on the computers and the computers only work when you don't need them to. History sucks because we aren't taught much of anything. English is fine but there's a lot of major projects (essays, mostly) compared to what I'm used to.

I hate Spanish class . Classes are better than last year though.

I had a substitute today in Spanish(and he actually knew Spanish), and he made the other 2 girls in the class argue about who was smarter in Spanish.

In my Spanish class, we're almost at the end of the first month, and we haven't got past Chapter 1.

...Is that bad? I think that's bad.

You guys should be thankful and happy about Spanish. I took Latin and then 5 years of French...simply because French was said to be 'tougher' than Spanish, even though the two are romance languages with 20% or so in common. At the time I convinced myself I would be a writer or teacher or accountant either in France or Quebec or something for it to make sense.

Fast forward just a few years, and I'm dating hot Spanish women who I cannot understand when they speak their main language. Ugh! Eventually I married a Colombian, and there's still a barrier even though my Spanish has improved. Here in Charlotte there are even sections of town that are pretty much spanish only - let alone vacation spots, like Mexico, the Dominican, pretty much all of central and south America. I even benefit from limited spanish knowledge when there are laborers doing something in the house or delivering furniture, lol.

Bottom line: Spanish is a pain sure (I hate having male/female designations for inanimate objects, holy cow) but might help you out a lot in life. French was great, but aside from the times I visit France (2), Quebec(1), Monte Carlo (1) and Haiti (0)...it doesn't really get as much play in life.

Haha I kind of liked learning Spanish. Honestly the worst part of the class was all the people who complained about being there all the time . Anyway, I thought it would be good to learn because there's a huge Mexican population in my hometown and a growing hispanic population in the U.S. And now I'm thinking of studying abroad. It's nice to have a culture other than your own that you're not completely clueless about.
