nope, i play for a team in the fergie jenkins showcase league and for my high school team :p

we start high school baseball like this week and our first practice for my out of school team is tomorrow. i have a lot of baseball coming up :p

So apparently one of the teachers has a woodchuck in her garden so we got to go set a live trap up in her garden during Wildlife class today.

And tomorrow I think we're going to set another at someone's grandma's because she's been having raccoon problems.

BrewersFuzz's school: "Our teachers basically just let us mess around in nature all day"

My school: "Write about a picture, the Mexican president, find ten pictures that you're going to write a speech about (in Spanish!), do 25 physics questions, study for your history test in two days, oh AND your spanish quiz in two days also, and write a movie evaluation and a character analysis. Also, do your pre-cal homework."

also they expect us to somehow spend 2 hours each night studying while also being at football by 6 am

so yeah, I would guess college can't possibly be any worse than this

That's one hour... It's not like we don't get homework. I've got Algebra II, Chemistry, APUSH, Novels, and Spanish II homework tonight... I always thought that the 2nd day of school was the worst for homework, because every teacher decides to start class for real that day and so they all hand out assignments.

And nobody studies for tests... or at all

If it makes you guys feel better, I have no homework tonight!

Hey folks, the reason I've been gone a while is because my computer is broken. Just checking in real quick. It's a relief that real life is easier than school cause I have a feeling this year is overwhelming.

First day today, here's the junior year schedule:

Period 1: PhysEd (MP 1-3)
Period 2: Multimedia Apps (was thinking Psychology+Holocaust elective)
Period 3: LabChem A
Period 4: Lunch
Period 5: English
Period 6: US History 2A
Period 7: Spanish 3 Honors
Period 8: Algebra 2

Not bad, only a few things were switched up. We'll see how having gym first goes but I don't mind the rest of the list to start off. Not in favor of having homeroom eliminated for sure.

Can I just say that I've never gotten the concept of "homeroom"? Like, what's the purpose of it? Is it just another name for your first actual class of the day, or is it something different?

Quite honestly, I wish we had to take PE, or at least had an option to do so; otherwise the school day gets extremely mundane

I assume our advisory is like homeroom - we do announcements and you can talk to that teacher for help with homework

Homeroom was basically where you got ready, were given important papers/slips, did attendance, they did the morning news, and lastly did any homework you procrastinated about.

Today I went straight to gym to get my schedule instead.

We've never had a home room... Phys. Ed is available all 4 years at my school, and 2 years are required.

Today I learned that the rest of my Spanish II class sucks at Spanish as well, which is awesome. Now I don't feel as pressured.
