I've been thinking of founding or working for a video game company. I think that would be pretty cool

real life is sooooo much easier than school. I mean, at least AP classes and boston-area school. Take that, then go to college and you're like "Wow this is kind of easy." Then get out in the real world, work for a few years, and get amazed by how easy success is.

Physics homework? now THATs hard

Yo man, FUK physics.

Ooh boy, that stuff's annoying

Also, for the video game upstart, be aware that that is a really, really hard profession to get into. I mean, absolutely positively go for it, but just know how cutthroat and competitive it is

Balancing three AP classes with an after-school job, fall baseball, and a long-distance relationship is already a bit much after one day. I can absolutely see how life after school is easier.

I regret joining.

Sooooo, like how is it different than spring besides the time of year? Are there still playoffs and such?

No, it's much more casual, two practices a week and a doubleheader on Sunday. I miss every practice because of work. I still would rather not waste time on my Sundays.

Oh yeah? I'm juggling 12 credit hours, a part-time job, volleyball stat-taking, soccer PA announcing, trying to learn to drive, and trying to find a girlfriend. Top that. :P

I'm not really out in the real world or anything, but working at a job so far has been a lot easier than school. Summer vacation is pretty much the only upside I can think to school over work, and the job is just a basic, boring, low paying job too, nothing special.

I mean, at work, when I'm done a day, I'm done, that's it. There's no: "All right, I'm done 8 hours of school, now to stay up all night working on this English project". After over a year of working, I don't recall ever being directly threatened or insulted at work, or on the way to work, or on the way back. Whereas in High School that was a pretty common thing, nobody ever actually followed up on a random threat that came out of nowhere, but it was still stressful to deal with. I have consistent bosses, and none of them are absolute jerks like some teachers are, I have at least one annoying co-worker, but it's nothing compared to the 8+ annoying students in every class. Oh, also, there's the whole being paid to work thing, whereas with school you have to pay for that, although usually parents will pay for all that, except when it gets to college, but some will even do that.

As long as we're being deep n' shit...

Holy *(censored)* college is better than high school. Everyone always says the material in college is harder, but it's not like there was a sudden jump in difficulty. It's progressed at the same rate it has for all of school. The difference now is that the schedule is much looser, and I'm finding myself perfectly capable of managing my own time so I don't royally screw anything up. My life doesn't seem to be as busy as some of yours, though, since I don't have/need a job right now (though I'm looking into internships) and I don't usually worry about girls at all forever alone. Other than that, the people I've met are crazy fun, there's plenty of clubs and stuff to do, learning new things is actually kind of satisfying, and goddamn the food here is great.

My biggest problem right now is what the hell am I going to do after I get out of here? I'm constantly amazed by people who know exactly what they want out of college or are following some dream they've had for years. I don't have that kind of passion for anything. The only reason I'm an engineering major right now is because the engineering program is much harder to transfer into than out of. I have no experience in the field and if someone were to ask me right now if I wanted to be an engineer, I would probably say no. It's just that I don't particularly want to do anything else either.

Well, there's my spiel. Props to everyone else who threw all or part of their life story out for all of us to read. That takes guts.

Also, I want to address Brewers real quick: Dude, you're a Junior. Now's the time to just start thinking about these things, not decide everything at once. Start with this: How close do you want to be to home? And how big of a town do you want to be in? Take as much time as you need with those, and don't even worry about your major yet. Plenty of students go in undecided and college is a great time to figure that stuff out. Just make sure that wherever you go you can keep doing what you enjoy. :)

Being close to home doesn't really matter as much to me as much as I thought it would... All my siblings have gone or are going to the same college, about an hour away. And yeah I've heard it's good, but if there are better options farther away, I don't think I'm as turned off to that as them. My brother could've gone to some D-II school in Maryland and played basketball, but instead he stayed close to home and joined the D-III team at the college he ended up going to. And I'm not sure I'd do the same. The only thing is that in-state tuition is way cheaper... Idk, I suppose time will tell.

But yeah HS cafeteria food sucks. I went to a bball camp on a college campus, and the food and drink was much better there. :)
