I've heard a lot of speculation that Bradley's going to the White Sox for Scott Linebrink. If that works, then yay! We get a decent righty reliever and our rival franchise gets ruined by Bradley!

Hey Zumi, how about Castillo for Bradley? You guys could use a second baseman who gets on base so that Castro could stay in the minors for another year. And your GM probably thinks that Castillo still plays good defense. Think it could work?

Well, it seems like no one is going to take the poison that is Milton Bradley. My dad and I were talking and we think we've come up with the best thing the Cubs can do with him: Keep him the next 2 years and pay him the 21 mil, but instead of using him as a right fielder, have him serve coffee and donuts to the team and stay out of the clubhouse at all times.

OMG OMG OMG POSSIBLE HUGE TRADE

Phillies Get
Roy Halladay

Mariners Get
Cliff Lee

Blue Jays Get
Prospects

Wow! This is shocking! It will be hard to evaluate until we know the full details of the trade, but this is certainly one of the biggest trades in years.
Let's see what happens!

Also, in other news, John Lackey signs 5 year, $85M deal with the Red Sox.

With the Phillies getting one of the best three pitchers in baseball and the best pitcher on the free agent market signing with Boston, I think the Mets need to sign Matt Holiday, unless Omar Minaya can come up with some very smart massive trade.

By the way, I just wrote this article and I want you guys to read it and let me know what you think of it. Thanks.

Not bad, interesting. However, I have 2 points to make:
(1) If he really is up to some huge deal, shouldn't there at least be some rumors floating around? So far the only ones are concerning Bay/Holliday and other assorted free agents. In other words, I'll believe it when I hear it.
(2) The Mets suck. :P

Well this came out of no where. The Mariners are going to win the NL West if this trade goes through because the Angels lost their best pitcher and Chone Figgins while the Mariners may get a former Cy Young pitcher and Figgins and maybe even Jason Bay which would pretty much change everyone's thoughts on the Mariners

but the Red Sox signed Lackey! This is an odd comparision but our rotation reminds me of the Celtics starters...

Beckett, Lester and Lackey are our big three
Buccholz resembles Rondo because he's young with a lot of potential
Wakefield/Dice-K is kind of the lost man in the rotation like Glen Perkins is as a Celtic's starter...

Isn't Glen Perkins a Twins starting pitcher? :P

But seriously, now that the Sox aren't getting Halladay and have more starting pitching with Lackey, they can trade Buccholz for Adrian Gonzalalez.

Angels sign Hideki Matsui to 1 year, $6.5M deal
Angels are also rumored to be working out a trade for the Atlanta Braves' Derek Lowe.

What a day this has been! The offseason just got so much more exciting!

"Philadelphia could give up pitchers J.A. Happ, Joe Blanton and outfielder Dominic Brown as part of a deal, the person said. Those three players also took physicals in Philadelphia on Monday."

So Lee to Seattle
Halliday to Phillie
Happ/Brown to Jays

Blanton goes where? Thought he had a hefty contract? ALso being discussed is that Jays cough up 5mil to Phills to help pay for this year salary.

Bay, your 1.5 years in Boston were fun but your asking for way too much and now I can say bye to you because we just got some new left fielder

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2009/12/m ... oston.html

The Red Sox have signed Cameron to be our left fielder while I guess Hermida will platoon. Well I don't know about that, our power in our lineup is just 20 homerun guys at this point with Youkilis a potential 30 homerun hitter and Ortiz needs to play like he did for the last 4 months of the season. As a Red Sox fan usual I've only seen one or two new guys and only 1 or two leave after an offseason but there are going to be a good amount of new players and lost players

Cameron
Scutaro
Lackey
Hermida
New Third Basemen or 1st basemen we need to find
probably another RP or two
are all new

Lowell
Bay
Gonzalez
Saito
Wagner
are all gone. I will of course miss Lowell and Bay the most, two great guys

SO many moves today it's tough to absorb all of them, another good note of today is that the Yankees can't get Halladay, Lackey or Matsui anymore.
