Knights Win OT Thriller
Nevada Knights(5-4) - 34
Atlanta Falcons(6-3) - 31

This Sunday's game was a tight one throughout. After Montrel Hopkins caught a screen pass and ran it 26 yards for a touchdown, Atlanta responded with a 2 yard touchdown pass to fullback Ovie Mughelli. Unfortunately for the Knights, the second quarter yielded 10 more points for the Falcons, and we headed into halftime with Atlanta leading 17 to 7.

The Knights came out of the locker room for the second half ready to play. Preston Parker took a 44-yard pass for a touchdown to kick things off. After the Falcons managed a field goal, Will Blackmon took the ensuing kickoff 98 yards to put the Knights within 3; Josh Scobee closed the gap as time expired in the third with a 47-yard field goal.

Donald Lee caught a 2 yard pass from Colin Kaepernick to give the Knights their first lead since the opening drive of the game. Atlanta kicked a field goal to pull within 8, and rookie Khambrel Mark tied things up with a 43-yard catch, followed by a 2-point conversion that sent us into overtime.

The Falcons won the coin toss to kick off our fifth period of play and were driving down the field as Michael Turner slipped out of the pocket and caught a pass at midfield. He broke away from the defense and charged down the field, scoring the game-winning touchdown.

As the cheers rained down, attention turned to a yellow flag on the field. A referee jogged to the middle of the field, conferred with a few others. The play was called back for clipping, and the Knights were able to stop the Falcons on their second attempt at third down. They received the punt, drove down the field, and lined up for a game-winning 38-yard field goal from Josh Scobee.

Today's win allowed the Knights to maintain their one game lead over the San Diego Chargers and Kansas City Chiefs, who the team will play next week at home.

Knights Fall To Chiefs
Kansas City Chiefs(6-5) - 31
Nevada Knights(6-5) - 24

The Knights' brief two-game winning streak came to an end today. With Montrel Hopkins out with injury and Colin Kaepernick off his game, Clinton Portis was forced to carry the load. He did well, picking up 91 yards on 20 carries, and his efforts were supplemented by Colin Kaepernick's 82 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

We were able to speak with head coach Rashawn Williams after the game:
"I think we're in a good position from here on out," he said. "The organization has confidence in Colin Kaepernick to lead this team to victory, and we're prepared for Clinton Portis to carry the offensive workload if needed. I like where the team is headed."

The Knights will face off against the 6-5 New Orleans Saints next Sunday at 1:00 EST.

Knights Win Despite Four Turnovers
New Orleans Saints(6-6) - 24
Nevada Knights(7-5) - 35

The Knights beat the New Orleans Saints, 35 to 24, thanks to 179 yards of total offense from Clinton Portis and three interceptions of Saints quarterback Drew Brees. The Knights took an early 7-0 lead late in the first quarter on a 97-yard screen pass to Portis, but lost that lead in the second, eventually going into the half down 17-14. The second half was all Knights, however, as they kicked things off with a pair of touchdowns, a four-yard run by Colin Kaepernick and a 44-yard interception return by Eric Wright. The Saints pulled back within four thanks to a Mark Ingram touchdown, but Noel Devine sealed the deal on an 11-yard run with 3 minutes to play.

The Knights will square off against the 6-6 Miami Dolphins next Sunday at 1:00.

Josh Scobee nailed two 40+ yard field goals, including the game winner with 3:15 left in the fourth quarter. The Knights now stand at 8-5, and with the Chiefs loss, now lead the AFC West by one game. Next week is very winnable, as the Knights will go up against the 4-9 Cincinnati Bengals.

I'm pretty sure there's a duplicate Colin Kaepernick on the 49ers in this. Shhh...

Kaepernick, Knights Clinch West
Cleveland Browns(10-5) - 14
Nevada Knights(10-5) - 41

The Nevada Knights, led by Colin Kaepernick and the backfield duo of Clinton Portis and Montrel Hoplins, won their 4th straight game on Sunday, clinching the AFC West thanks to a loss by the now 8-7 Kansas City Chiefs.

The Knights got off to a quick start when, after a field goal, returned a fumble 28 yards for a touchdown and a 10-0 lead. They continued to apply the pressure in the 2nd, with a pair of rushing touchdowns from Colin Kaepernick and Clinton Portis, and it was a 24-0 game. Josh Cribbs managed to return the ensuing kickoff for a touchdown, but the Knights marched down the field quickly, scoring with 32 seconds left in the half.

Scoring slowed down in the third, but nonetheless, the Knights finished dominant in this one, winning by a score of 41 to 14.

Colin Kaepernick stated after the game:
"It's a great feeling, knowing you're in the playoffs for the first time. I'm really proud of the team."

Kaepernick finished with 80% completion rate and 198 yards, surpassing 3,000 on the season for the first time in his career. It's also worth noting that it was Colin's first game since week 4 without an interception.

The Knights will rest their key starters, including Kaepernick, next week against the 7-8 Denver Broncos. After that, it's all business.

Knights Lose, Head to Playoffs
Denver Broncos(8-8) - 49
Nevada Knights(10-6) - 17

With a majority of the starters out to rest for the playoffs, the Nevada Knights struggled against the 7-8 Denver Broncos, ending up on the short end of a 49-17 blowout. Things were ugly from the get-go, as Mike Kafka, who was given the nod on Colin Kaepernick's day off, through an interception that Champ Bailey returned for a touchdown.

Kafka continued to struggle throughout the first half, so head coach Rashawn Williams turned things over to third-stringer Terelle Pryor in the third quarter. Pyror saw some success at first, but ultimately threw three interceptions of his own. He did, however, throw a touchdown pass to DeAndre Brown late in the game and also picked up a solid 40 rushing yards.

Noel Devine, who saw only seven carries as the Knights were forced to pass for a majority of the game, picked up 33 yards, 26 of which came on a touchdown run on 4th and 2 in the third quarter.

Head coach Rashawn Williams seemed confident that today's game was no indication of what was to come in the playoffs, stating that, "we didn't play our best guys, so we didn't play our best game."
