Melonheads Trade Ace Delvecchio, Prepare for New Season

The Humongous Melonheads traded star pitcher Angela Delvecchio for speedy outfielder Dante Robinson. Even though the team already has three outfielders in Kiesha Phillips, Pablo Sanchez, and Pete Wheeler returning for the upcoming season, the team felt like it needed to add a bit more of a spark to the lineup. Kenny Kawaguchi will take over as the #1 starter, while Amir Khan replace him as the #2 guy. Robinson is expected to bat in the 2-hole, moving Stephanie Morgan all the way to 8th and making Kenny Kawaguchi the 9-hitter. Hopefully, this move will turn out to be a smart one and will help the Melonheads redeem themselves after an extremely disappointing championship loss.

Yessir. I was actually going to suggest that someone take him. With his new SP role, he's got a lot of added value.

Hmm... since lance hasn't been on since Sunday and this was updated Tuesday, I think I'll give him Tony back. Does anyone want Stephanie Morgan? She batted .359 last year and doesn't make errors or strike out much, so she's not the worst player out there.

Melonheads Start 2012 With a Bang

The Humongous Melonheads kicked off the 2012 BBL season with a bang. Kenny Kawaguchi gave up a solo home run in the top of the 1st inning, but the Melonheads responded abruptly with 3 straight singles to load the bases in the bottom of the inning. Tony Delvecchio kicked off the team's 2012 scoring with an RBI walk after a Kiesha Phillips strikeout, and Achmed Khan opened the game up with a 2-run double. The Melonheads scored several more runs in the upcoming innings, and home runs by Pablo Sanchez, Tony Delvecchio, and Achmed Khan led the way. After completing his quality start in 7 innings, Pablo Sanchez and Pete Wheeler threw in the 8th and 9th, not allowing a hit and completing the Opening Day victory. The Melonheads will take on the Super-Duper Hornets, who also started their season with a win, in a road game tomorrow.
