I assume that if I have a 25% chance, then I'd have to get a number from 1 to 25. 50% would be 1 to 50, and on and on.

If I have to put all my points on the line, like in Success mode, then let's do a 2 point gamble for speed. (50% probability) Thx.

If we're using the same system as before (I assume so) I'll also take 2 contact upgrades.

You have 2 points left after getting speed +2, do you want to use those to gamble for a third point or bank them for your next level up?

Finally, after some months of other boring stuff, it was baseball season. With only one week to prepare for their first game, the Walker Grove Raiders needed to buckle down and work hard all week in order to try and start the season off on the right foot.

Over the few months leading up to the season, several players had made huge improvements. Several of the pitchers made major strides. Eighth-grader Charlie Pickett learned a changeup, and his fellow blue-teamer Bryan Carvajal got his velocity up to 63 mph. Jimmy James added two new pitches and worked hard to improve his stamina, although coaches were unsure why the sixth-grader felt the need to have a four-pitch repertoire when all most pitchers at that level needed was a decent fastball and the ability to change speeds. Red-team catcher Stanislaus Lem did a lot of sprints and improved his speed greatly. His final workout was very difficult, and he only made it through half of the exercises before flopping down on the sidewalk he was running on and giving up. However, the next day, he mustered up enough strength to finish the workout, and got a little bit faster as a result. The coaches were very impressed with his speed, and he defeated the self-proclaimed speedster Harry Hustle in a race after Monday’s practice.

On Tuesday, Matthew walked into art class and finished the papier-mache sculpture he had been working on. Mr. Brown came over to evaluate his finished project and gave it an A-plus.

On Wednesday, Xander went through the school handing out invitations to his (late) birthday party that Saturday. The party was to be held at a park downtown, with dinner afterwards at a Culver’s that had very recently opened and wasn’t even listed on the Culver’s website yet.

Xander handed out invitations to a dozen of his baseball teammates: sixth-graders Thurgood Stubbs, Johnny Boyega, Matthew Simpson, and Cody Tibbits; seventh-graders Jaxon Stills, Danny Hummer, Sam Gow, and James Wilson; and eighth-graders Charlie Pickett, Tucker Simmons, Simon Simmons, and Tyler Peterman.
