(27-29) Atlanta Braves Image

San Diego Padres - 8
Atlanta Braves - 1

WP: Luke Gregerson (3-3)
LP: Peter Moylan (1-3)
SV:

The scoring started early, in the top of the first. After a triple by Evereth Cabrera and a line out from Orlando Hudson, Brad Hawpe hid Cabrera home with a single. In the bottom of the first, after a strikeout from Prado, Uggla hits a double and McCann hits him home with a single up the middle, tie score now. It stayed tied until the top of the ninth, when Peter Moylan came in and Evereth Cabrera unloaded on the first pitch he saw to put the Padres on top. They would add on lots of insurance, as they end up winning 8-1.

San Diego Padres:
Mat Latos: 7 IP, 4 H, ER, 10 K
Evereth Cabrera: 4-5, HR, RBI, 2 3B, 2B

Atlanta Braves:
Tommy Hanson: 7 IP, 3 H, ER, 4 K
Dan Uggla: 1-4, 2B

Brandon Hicks wonders why he hadn't been starting the whole time.

The manager responds that Alex Gonzalez did better when he started him three games and then Brandon Hicks three games. If Hicks does well enough in Gonzalez's absence, which will be about a month longer, he will share the starting slot with Gonzalez.

I thought the draft in Power Pros was bad, but good golly! It's gonna take a while for those guys to develop.

I'll also be the agent for Michael Cordova

@
(31-31) Florida Marlins Image

Atlanta Braves - 1
Florida Marlins - 2

WP: Jhan Martinez (1-1)
LP: Derek Lowe (5-6)
SV: Randy Choate (2)

The scoring started in the top of the first. After back-to-back base hits from Uggla and McCann, and a strikeout from Heyward, Freddie Freeman was able to hit home Uggla with a single. Then, in the bottom of the second, with runners on the corners, Infante comes in and hits a grounder. Stanton scores, runner at first is out, and the throw goes over the first baseman's head and Infante goes to second. The score remained tied until the bottom of the eighth, when with a runner on second Scott Cousins hit him home with a single to make it 2-1. That will be all of the runs in the game as the Braves lose a tight one.

Atlanta Braves:
Derek Lowe: 8 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 5 K
Brian McCann: 3-4, 2B

Florida Marlins:
Ricky Nolasco: 7 IP, 8 H, ER, BB, 11 K
Chris Coghlan: 1-3, 3B
